SportyOne,

Yes, the JV game was exciting. West Union was scoring at will on Eastern in the first half. I know the point differential was 18 at one point. An aggressive full court press got them back into the game (the half time talk must have helped also). It was back and forth there at the end. Great game to watch.

Eastern over North Adams, 39-38. This was a really good game. Eastern led the majority of the game, but if it had gone to overtime, I think North Adams may have pulled it out. Free throws on both sides were not good. Congratulations to both teams for a hard fought game.

Very good game. Eastern impressed me with their ball movement and defense. I thought North Adams played good defense but their ball movement was nowhere near as good as Eastern. They also did not take advantage of Emily Fite in the post like they probably should have. Post passing was pretty bad for the Lady Devils. Fundamentally Eastern was the better ball team last night.

I don't think it was the 1/2 time talk as WU outscored Eastern in the 3rd quarter as well. The killer was the 4th quarter where WU only scored 4 and Eastern scored 23. I think the problem was that WU did not play Tess Burns the 4th quarter as they were saving her quarters for Varsity.

In reality, eastern was containing the bleeding ar the end of the second quarter. They managed much better in the second half. Tess is a big factor and not playing her hurt. Good luck.

Manchester looked pretty good tonight. Tomorrow night will be an interesting game with North Adams coming off a 1 point loss to Eastern and Peebles coming off a 30 point loss to Fayetteville. At the start of the season I would have picked Peebles but they don't seem to be playing as well as I thought they would. I'd say this game is a toss up althought North Adams may have a slight advantage since they are on their home floor.

North Adams jumped out to a big lead and withstood a great 2nd half effort by Peebles. Lady Devils face the Lady Greyhounds Friday night for the championship in a rematch of last years championship. If they win that will be at least 5 straight Mcdonalds chamionships for the Lady Devils. Can't overlook Manchester as they played very well in their game last night.

North Adams has a good squad. Peebles dug themselves into too deep of a hole at the very beginning. I was impressed with how they fought back. Why are so many of our girls quitting? Weve had multiple contributors, and one starter, fall out within just the past 3 weeks or so.

I was wondering the same thing. This team has a lot of potential but it seems they are dropping like flies. What's going on. Does anybody know why the girls are quitting.

Do not know this to be a fact but several people told me that some quit over playing time and how the coach behaves.

Manchester also had girls quit but the coach let them come back.

Hard to be a coach as you never make everyone happy. Your too hard on them, you need to be harder. You need to play your top players, you need to play a lot of players. You never should have lost that game. You should have left her in, you should have took her out. You need to work on this, you need to work on that.

I think there can be a time where you can have too much talent. There are only so many minutes in a game and you still have to have players who do the things that don't show up in a stat sheet to be successful. Everyone has their opinion of who should be doing what and when everyone voices their opinion it can create an atmosphere that is volatile. I don't know if this is the case at Peebles and all I have heard is rumor but one thing I do know is that they seem to change coaches frequently and that normally makes it hard to be consistent.
