I feel a lot of pressure on the young Peebles boys. I don't believe this game will be close.

I think NA will either come out looking like one of the better teams around and winning by 10-13 points OR Peebles will do what West Union did a couple of years ago and put it to NA.

But if I had to guess, I'd still pick NA.

Good Luck to both!

Great Job Devils!!!! What a game tonight, and what a great crowd for both sides! It went pretty much as I expected. Peebles played with a lot of heart, but North Adams was too much for the Indians for the entire 4 quarters.

As physical as the game got, it is probably a good thing that both teams get a few days off to rest.

Too many turnovers for the Indians, and missed foul shots, Devils come out on top. Good game, could have went either way, who ever had the momentum in the last couple minutes was going to come out with a victory. Chance for redemption Jan.9 at when Peebles goes to N.A. Go Indians

What a great high school basketball game!!! Both teams played with great heart and determination. North Adams' pressure and bit longer bench allowed them to pull away. Great effort given by Lawhorn's bunch. It will be a great rematch when the Indians make the short trip down 32 (First game after the Classic for both teams!!).

It was a great atmosphere tonight for both games, one of the biggest crowds I've seen in the SHL in a long time. This game had it all, even a mascot mugging! :122246

I went incognito, low profile tonight. maybe i'll have my wig and sign for the rematch at north adams. i bet north adams wishes they had kept this game as the league game. it will interesting to see which team makes the necessary adjustments in the next game.

Does anyone know what offense Peebles was running? As I've said before, until they start working the ball around, having a little patience on the offense, stop forcing shots and giving the shooters a chance at something better, this will be the outcome.
Yeah, great crowd. Also SOC fan, the rematch wont be Peebles first game after the holiday tourney, they have Manchester on Tuesday.

just thought i would throw this out there. Peebles actually did have 5 players on the floor during regulation throughout the entire game, I know it was a little tough to notice, especially on the offensive end, but just thought people would want to know that. Peebles is a great group of boys, love to watch them play, however, I'm a bit worried that if the offense continues down the path its on now, there will be a lot of tension between not only the players but also fans against CERTAIN players, and against the coach who thus far hasn't controlled the problem. Thank god this wasn't a league game, hopefully when peebles makes the trip to seaman in a week or so they will move the ball and look for high percentage shots instead of taking stupid shots before your rebounding personnel even has a chance to make it to the offensive end. I see a lot of boys working really hard for the ball only for the same few to fire up unwarranted shots. keep your heads up workhorses, WE ALL SEE HOW HARD YOUR WORKING. Hope Lawhorne recognizes and remedies the problem. Nothing says "do something different" like a few crucial minutes on the pine. :122249 Good luck indians.

Again, I was not there so my comments on the same people taking most of the shots cannot really be acceptable......but Western Pike was a last second 3 pointer from going to the state final four 2 years ago with the same 2 people jacking up all the shots. I wonder how the rest of that team handled it.

Questioning Lawhorn is ridiculous. ....unless you feel he doesn't care, and that's kind of a tough trait to prove.

I agree Ironman Lawhorn is their for one reason and thats to win you'll never convince me otherwise. To question his knowlege is insain. I dont think he come out of retirement to let two kids shoot the ball. He knows how to win . Just seems like some people are never happy. The people of Peebles better realize they have the best coach in southern ohio. Maybe they will have free steak dinners at the next peebles home game, oh wait people would complain that they were too done or too rare..

Whoa, wait a minute, it sounds like the last 2 posters may be the ones with the blinders on, not the other couple hundred people in the gym last night saying the same thing. Ironman, as you said, you weren't even there so right, your comments really can't even factor in. Opie...I know how much you like Coach Lawhorn and that is fine but take your goggles off for just a minute and look at the situation, I don't think anyone on here doesn't respect the man and what he has accomplished in the past. We just are all hoping that that man and the way he coached back then resurfaces. Who on here opie, has questioned his knowledge but I know you have been there for most games and you tell me, last night, what offense were they running? Heres what offense I saw....cross half court, 3 people on you, fire it up, off balance, whatever. Every time down the floor. Never even looking to pass. Heres the thing, no one is saying that kid shouldn't shoot, by all means, he needs to shoot, lots of times, but he needs to take better shots. Ever heard of pass, pass, pass, then guess what....theres a lay up, or a good OPEN shot? If you don't think TA and Andrew have the same ability to score, you don't know much about basketball. Did you see Unger for NA shoot everytime he crossed half court, no, what you saw, was a team out there, working to get guys open. Peebles will continue to beat the mediocre teams but until something changes they will continue to lose to the good teams. We don't want free steak dinners Opie, the popcorn is good enough. What we would like to see is good TEAM basketball and someone who doesn't care to call a player out when he needs it, no matter who is sitting beside him. It's not about making anyone happy, it's about getting back to the business of winning basketball games, that's why he's here.

If you have noticed my other posts I agree completely, that Peebles has to play better team ball to win against quality teams. I have agreed with that all along. I just cant imagine Lawhorn cant see the same thing. I dont have blinders on I can see what your seeing. I can also see the people of Peebles are never happy, firing coaches or running them out of town every couple years, they will never build a winning program, like they have at North Adams. Peebles has not been the same since the Art Myers days because he was their long enough to build a program.. Maybe in a couple years when lawhorn retires Mr. Arey can take over and hopefully they leave him alone and let him build something.

I have read your posts Opie and that's why your last one surprised me so much. Like you, I can't imagine that Lawhorn can't see it so the big question is, why isn't he doing anything about it? All summer, we heard how he will be the type of coach that will not care who you are, when you need a ripping you're going to get it...he will make them play as a team? You've been to games, have you seen that? If someone is continually forcing bad shots, not hustling back, etc... have you seen that person be taken out, even if just for a couple minutes to get an earful??
You are right about that certain group, they accomplished their goal of getting rid of Doug, I know it's early, but do things look any different? I for one, was hoping, that the arrival of Mr Lawhorn, would put an end to that. In his defense, I don't think he realized what he was getting into. I agree, the man loves the game, loves coaching it, has all the knowledge in the world. Question is, is he going to be able to coach the way we know he can or will there be too much influence on the bench?

Opie,i really dont know what to say!I guess im just disappointed.I felt like if we would of played a good last part of the 4th quarter we would of won the game.We had the lead,as u know, and we didnt take care of the ball.Took some bad shots, and i think our legs were gone.I have come to the conclusion, that maybe were expecting to much.We are putting a lot of pressure on a couple of guys.As u know one is just a soph.A great player, but a lot of pressure and responsibility. The decision has been made to play this way,and its something that we are going to have to accept and move on.I thought North Adams deserved to win the game,i sure take nothing away from them.Very well coached in the final quarter. All i can say is GO INDIANS

I don't have any blinders? I simply stated that I was not there BUT was still offering another possible view as I gave a decent example of how a team has had great success with just two main players taking the shots.

This doesn't mean I agree about everything that is going on. I simply feel that it doesn't seem like everybody is aboard ship Lawhorn and some are going to complain regardless. I believe this team will prevail depending on the players and not the coach. Peebles is very talented but they need to do all the things in basketball and right now they are not. I know by reading who is shooting the ball, but how is the rebounding, turnovers, free throw shooting etc?

And I do not believe that John Lawhorn is the finest coach in southen Ohio.
