Michael Jordan was cut as a freshman from his high school team. Moral of the Story: Tell the kid to work hard and practice, practice, practice. Make the coach regret cutting you by showing him he was wrong. So many parents today are willing to point the finger and blame someone else. I am not saying that this set of parents is doing this, but we do live in the participation trophy generation now. It wont be long before they quit keeping score and everybody gets to play the same amount of minutes in high school.

I will use my son as an example of what a kid should do when he is cut from a team.

He tried out for and made it to the last cuts for 8th grade Jr High baseball before being cut. Though we were both very disappointed and thought he should have made the team, we didn't go to the school board or berate the coach. Instead we talked to the coach to see what he needed to do to improve his game and we went and worked our tails off that spring to make him better.

He went on to play Jr League baseball that summer and had an excellent season culminating by making the All Star team, over kids that made the Jr High team by the way, and he also went on to make the JV team his freshman year. That was his last year of baseball though since he decided to focus on his academics(straight A's and top 3 in his class every year in high school) and get a job to help pay for his upkeep on his truck. I couldn't be prouder of him if I tried.

I never get on here and call people out but I'd like to hear more from T/T about what else is going to come out in this story. If the Coach thought that by keeping any of the kids that were cut would help him build a respectable team that would win games and be the kind of team that the community would proud of ,he would have kept them. I also like the odd person getting on here telling us what is wrong with the Green school district when they are not from here and some don't even know some of us semi-wonderful :122245 persons.{Furnace FOLK}. :12224 .Like I've said 99 times in these threads good luck to Coach and good luck to the Green Bobcats this year.

hell...i love u hoot!!!

Hopefully this is the end of this story - with the beginning of the season starting the CATS can start focusing on playing ball!! GOOD LUCK CATS . Like hoot, bobby and a few others have said in the past - the people of FF would love to see you win. BUT the most important thing is to play your arses off, play good D, and play smart - that will make you a winner in 99% of the people's minds!

Well; if the lid is coming off this thing tomorrow,i'll reserve my final judgement then. I am all about hearing all sides of the story but if indeed there is more to the story, should'nt it been brought to the surface already. According to most, one player was cut because of an alleged attitude problem and depending who you ask, 3 kids were cut EITHER because they were not good players or they had a handicap excluding them from being good players. I'm not the conspiricy therory type so I do not see much else to the story but to be fair to all , i'll reserve judgement{although it does NOT seem that the Coach broke any open gym rules, the complaintent seems to be incorrect}.Here's something different, let's talk Bball :122245 .PLH :122245
P.S. i feel LOVED! :122245 :122245 :122245. Gettin love from Flash,Sweet Pea,and the Dowgg is cool. If BOBBY and Sawdust say something good about me, i better go back to confession  .

i wonder what would happen, if the people of FF could go to the place of employment and tell the a## holes how to do their JOB.. let the coach do his job and stop trying to live your life through your kids.. ah wil they go to the first job interveiw with thier kids . time to let them grow up .. parents to :122246

T/T I'm just curious about a couple of things? What if this drama doesn't play out to your likeing? Do you move to another school district? What if you move and next year this individual gets cut again by a different coach and a different school? Do you replay this drama again? When does it stop? It's time to move on. At this point you are doing way more harm than good.

I said on the other two post that I thought it was wrong to cut these players, including freshman, when you only had 14 kids out. I still believe that, and I think most of the locals believed the cuts should not have been made. Saying that, everyone knows its time to move on and support the team.

As for T/T, this story has played out, the school board was pretty clear they are done with it and WSAZ doesn't have the story they broadcast last night on the front page of the website.

Go Cats!
