Lady Panthers

Post by Bricklayer »

Just wondering what you guys think The Lady Panthers will do this season. Basically the only girls they have back that contributed much from last season is Dani Summers, Katie Wheeler, Sarah Castle, and Laura Belcher. Cami Groves isn't playing so they lost another good player. But they got a good shooter in Tori Osborne. Their not going to win the league but they might be pretty good this year. So people give me you opinion.

I think that they will compete well in the season but won't win the League

Well they lost to New Boston Thursday. They stayed in it in the first half but fizzled out in the second half. I don't know what happened but I know of one clay player Sarah Castle having a bite mark on her shoulder. She told me one of NB players biting her. Now I'm not a referee but i think thats illegal just a little. But maybe the clay players can get a little more scrappy the other teams will quit that stuff.

Cami Groves wasn't too big of a loss like everyone might think.
Sure she was tall, but Katie Wheeler won't have a problem of taking her place.
The one problem that the Lady Panthers have is beating themselves up. Sometimes it looks like they give up if they get a little down...but i will still be rooting for them!

Oh yeah, another good player for the panthers is sophmore Katherine Bauer. she has good ball control and can shoot very well. She is now starting varsity

Yeah Katherine is pretty good. Also doing a good job of taking Injured Laura Belcher's place but i don't think Katherine will keep it for long through not with Laura's impressive defense.

I haven't watched Clay play too much this season. I think I've been able to catch one varsity game and maybe two J.V games.

On the varsity level, I was very impressed with the Osborne girl. She's a tremendous shooter.

On the J.V level, i was pretty impressed, as well. I recall one girl who was an excellent shooter- Spriggs was the name, I think. She's only a freshmen, but wow! That girl could shoot!

Why isnt't Groves playing? With her height she is always tough on the boards. The Panthers are also gonna miss Mallory White this year in basketball and softball.

Even with Groves not playing and the loss of some very good players from last year, Clay is always very tough in every sport. Good luck, would have enjoyed seeing you beat New Boston.
