Re: Peebles Junior High Girls Teams
If I remember correctly, Peebles has played Northwest, Chillicothe, Bishop Flaget, West Union, and Fayetteville as non-league opponents. They have played West Union and Fayetteville twice with only one of those games counting as a league game which is what they do for all junior high teams in the SHL -- play each of the other 9 schools one game apiece.
Peebles was supposed to play North Adams a second time as well, but for whatever reason that hasn't been worked out. That's really hard to believe with the schools being so close.

Maybe someone should talk to the AD's?

The Athletic Director already knows. We requested to pick-up certain teams we knew were competitive last summer.

Bevo,
I was referring to the make-up game, not your daughter's non-conference schedule.

slamdunk, maybe you will get another chance at Peebles in the tournament.

Never said anything about NA wanting another shot at Peebles! But if NA does get another shot at them, it kind of looks like it would be in the championship game. And I know they would definitely take that.
Peebles 7th grade is a great team talent wise and I don't know any team that is begging to play them, even after their loss. But NA's 7th grade making it to the title game to face Peebles would be great just because of the accomplishment of making it to the title game. Then, after that, who knows, anything can happen in the tournament.
Of course, all of this talk depends on the seeding for the tournament. Right now, I know NA is hoping for the #3 seed.

Peebles 7th grade girls over Eastern Brown on Monday night 29 - 9.
Eastern 8th grade girls beat Peebles by 6-8 points.

Re: Peebles Junior High Girls Teams
Any details on the game? 29 points seems pretty low for the 7th grade team.

Peebles lost to Fayetteville last Monday by 2 points. Peebles beat them the first time they played in the SHL league game at Fayetteville by 2 points. These two teams will undoubtedly match up again in the SHL Tournament Championship game here in a couple of weeks. The regular season ends this week with the tournament getting underway on Saturday. Peebles won't play on Saturday as they will get the # 1 seed for winning the league and receive a bye.
Fayetteville has a pretty nice team as they have a couple of "bigs" and some decent guards and are well coached.

Both the 7th and 8th grade games were kind of sloppy and they were like that for both Peebles and Eastern. I doubt if either team had much opportunity to get in the gym last week and you could tell that by the play of both teams and with it being the first day back in school after a "winter break" didn't help either.
In the 7th grade game Peebles really didn't look to run a whole lot which they normally do especially off of turnovers. They were trying to work a lot on their 1/2 court game some which they really haven't had to do much at all this year other than against Fayetteville. I think the coaches saw some things they wanted to work on and used the Eastern game to do just that. To beat Fayetteville they are going to need to be able to play good in the 1/2 court on both offense and defense and of course stay out of foul trouble which hurt them in the last game.
The scoring was pretty balanced. I doubt if Peebles had any player in double figures but probably had 4 girls with around 6 apiece.
