Re: Coal Grove @ Ironton St Joe 12/9
Final score CG 53 St. Joe 38
Good game by the Grove , ST Joe rallied towards the end but it wasn't enough
Coal Grove improves to 2-0 and St Joe drops to 1-2
Goodluck to both teams on the year

sorry pleasanttiger, you should never pick against your alma mater. i thought the cg coach started subbing out way too early and the flyers got back in the game somewhat. i guess it's a learning process for a first year coach as well. nice game and nice floor they play on just not alot of seating.

You say not a lot of seating? Where is this gym located........is it down at the old Ironton Jr High School still where St.Joe has played for years?rico suave wrote:sorry pleasanttiger, you should never pick against your alma mater. i thought the cg coach started subbing out way too early and the flyers got back in the game somewhat. i guess it's a learning process for a first year coach as well. nice game and nice floor they play on just not alot of seating.

St.Joe now plays at the new IHS in the aux gym. There was plenty of seats for the East game but kinda tight for CG.

The old Ironton Jr. High School doesn't exist any more. It was demolished after the new elementary/junior high was built. They play at the new Ironton High School's aux gym as The Flying Dutchman said. It is near the Ohio University Exit of Ironton. It is on the east end of the IHS complex, on 7th and Helpar Streets (1701 S. 7th street for the exact address) Seating capacity is not as much as the old Junior High building, but it has been adequate for what St. Joe has drawn the last two years, with a few exceptions. The Coal Grove game was tight, but there still were seats available, you just can't be afraid to sit close to your neighbor. Plus, the floor is very nice and plenty of room around without restraining lines. (Before anyone says it, no, it's not shot on New Boston, but a restraining line was the case at the old Junior High where SJ played previously) The lighting is very good, not the dingy and dark lighting from the old days at the junior high.a_c_m wrote:You say not a lot of seating? Thanks for info! There should be plenty of room when the Tigers come calling also. Good Luck to your Flyers!Vision Quest wrote:a_c_m wrote:You say not a lot of seating?
