PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
Whats going on in football? The Trojans used to be a Power house i think its time for a coaching CHANGE!
Re: PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
Portsmouth is a relatively small school; talent fluctuations will occur and injuries will happen. Just give it time to run its course. The Trojans will be better!

the grade schools is what you was told was "bursting at the seams".....and you was told right....Im guessing since he posted this on the "high school" forum,I bet thats what he is talking about
Re: PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
But since they are a "small" school dont you think the best players should play both ways? i mean look at the past seasons the 2001 team should of had all of them studs going both ways! And these last few years he`s had some talent an players only played one way TIME FOR CHANGE!!!!!!

Re: PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
These things will make the football Trojans better in 2009:
1. Better offensive line play
2. More of a threat with the running game
3. Contain opponents' speed on defense
4. Better overall special teams' play/kicking/punting
Portsmouth will be better based on the number of returnees, but they could be quite a bit better if the above 4 things are improved. Look at Logan Elm.....they went from 0-10 to 10-0 and then won their first 2 playoff games. A big improvement is possible for PHS............from 1-9 to ?
I would still like to see Portsmouth get in better shape overall.....we have some kids that need to trim the fat........to play both ways, you must be in very good shape.....

Re: PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
Most can't go both ways because of conditioning........I agree with Trojandave.......we are lacking in the strength & conditioning..............
Re: PORTSMOUTH FOOTBALL
When you have guys standing around all practice your not going to be in shape. What happen to those practices when they ran our guts out and nobody stood around? Clifford must be getting soft in his older days.
