Turk...glad to see you mention Tim Johnson.
He had the bulid of Jeremy Shockey, the speed of Randy Moss, and the hands of Jerry Rice, and the look of a Sasquatch.
Its kinda sad he was never utilized at tight-end.
Speaking of the Sasquatch, rumor has it in high school they used to hide Tims jockstrap(note* The word Tim Johnson and Jockstrap in the same sentence makes me wanna puke in my mouth)
Anyway hence the Jack Links comercials.....Messing with Sasquatch.

Rumor from the Fort has it that Marty's senior year the Hornets were 0-10........
Re: Coal Grove Football All Time Team
Topping was probably the best or maybe Joe Ross! Some good lineman though as well,Greg Carmen comes to mind!Wait though does Topping count? He was a Fairland guy!
Re: Coal Grove Football All Time Team
Coal Grove has had some very good linemen roaming the halls in recent years - D. Bazel, A. Bare, Dever, Willis, etc...
Who can forget Hyland? Coal Grove's all-time rushing leader and that truly says something.
Jerry Fields would have to be right up there near the top - the only Hornet to make it to the pros, if I'm not mistaken...
Here's his Bio page from the New York Jets' website:

Re: Coal Grove Football All Time Team
Without a doubt CG has had some great players. There is no way with that many great players could you ever say, these were the best. Best way to do it would be to break it down to 90s to present, 70s & 80s, 60s & back. Then I think you could come up with some great CG teams. It was my great honor to be a part of the hill during the early 70s even though I was from the Peake, I spent the weekend in CG hanging at my aunt & uncle's house. So I got to see some great football back in those days.
