I heard this second-hand, but Peebles won BIG over West Union in Girls' Junior High games on Saturday.

The 7th grade game was something like 80-8 with Baylee Wallace scoring 26 points and Sidney Pell had a triple double with 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 11 assists. Peebles won the the 8th grade game by 30 points +.

Peebles 7th grade girls won over Chillicothe Bishop Flaget 66-11. Big nights once again by Sidney Pell and Alex Carson. It seems like every night it's a different player leading the way.

There was no 8th grade girls game.

Peebles girls teams are off until Monday, December 15 for their big show-down with North Adams. These games should be a couple of dandies.

I know it's a 50 mile distance....but Peebles 7th grade needs to play Jackson's 7th grade. Each team is completely dismantling the opponents. Jackson has played 3 games and the combined 1/2 time scores are 85-2

They have defeated Chilly, Ironton and Portsmouth 52-6, 49-3 and 48-6

For that matter both schools have very good 8th grade teams as Jackson is undefeated.

It's a bit of a long trip.....but would be two good matchups HELPING both teams/schools

I agree that a game between both 7th and 8th grades from Peebles and Jackson would benefit both schools and would be entertaining games.

I do know that last year as 6th graders, Peebles and Jackson played in a Christmas Tournament at the YMCA in Jackson. Peebles was playing with their current 7th grade team, along with one player who is in a grade lower, and beat Jackson by double figures in both games.

Jackson has some very solid players, that's for sure. I think that Peebles' 7th and 8th grade girls teams have one more scrimmage date available and the 7th grade team possibly has one open regular season date because of some SHL schools not fielding 7th grade teams this year. Maybe something could be worked out.

On the flip end the 7th grade parent that I spoke with said they have played "those" Peebles girls in AAU and beat them.

Jackson 7th grade has 5 very talented 7th grade girls with a very good bench.

I'd love to see it.

Must have been two years ago as we beat Team Ohio (Jackson girls) both times we played them last year.

They have a very good group of girls that play hard.

Jackson's better players played for 2 separate AAU/travel teams and probably the 2nd best player didn't play for either.

I doubt that either top group has matched up vs the other.

I'm pretty sure it was their entire team when Peebles played them last year at Jackson at the YMCA in the Christmas Tournament, although I've been wrong on many occassions!!! :) That would have been during school ball season and not AAU. Scott Ridout coached the team Peebles played there and also coached some of the same girls in AAU.

The players that I remember that played against us were the Ridout girl, the Hale girl, the big girl inside (Poe), and a couple of other ones that I can't remember. They had four pretty solid scorers on that team. The Humphries girl in the 6th grade now didn't play much for them. I agree with what bevo said earlier in that Jackson has a very talented group of girls and they do play hard.

Peebles had the 7th graders: Pell, Wallace, Carson, Justice, McFarland, and Dinsmore and the 6th grader Doddridge.

Sounds like it could turn into a pretty good rivalry once these girls get older. Maybe their schools could get together and play some during the reg. season? I've seen the Peebles 7th gr. play in the past but never w/a 6th grader, is she on their middle school team?

having played both Stan Doddridge and Scott Ridout's teams over the last 2 or 3 years, both teams
are outstanding. The big advantage for Jackson now is the little Doddride is in 6th and has to stay
at biddy ball, because no doubt, she is the best shooter for her age. Would be a game I would pay
to see. Good luck to both programs this year.

Tarheel fan -You need to work with your 8th grade team-The mccune kid has some potential but west union organization has ruined him.He travels and his shot is 2 handed-If a decent coach worked with him when he was younger i could see him as being an ok player but since no work ethic had been permitted You can tell he has not improved and is staying at his same level why others are going up

Yeah...Rideout's team didn't have several of the Jackson girls....including 3 starters.......his AAU team had some Vinton Co girls.

Regardless.....neither team is being anywhere near challenged.......someone set this thing up.
