Yeah, I see what you're saying. When we played Huntington we could not even take a breath and they had the ball and an easy layup...I assume thats how this game was....

Yates- Is he going to play like that against someone who plays with heart and an all out defensive effort, or is he going to do this against someone on the Western squad?

valley plays 94 feet of man to man for 32 minutes . that is the coaches style and he has 6 quick guards that handled the ball (phenomonaly?) tuesday and mobile tweeners that harrass the crap out of you allover the floor until they force a turnover and hopefully score off it, then pick up their man and do it again. it is hard to watch sometimes not really the style ball I like but its run with what you have and we have speed and quickness and all of a sudden some shooting ability that has been lacking last several years.

When you have two boys the size of Shanks and Smithson, you should not score easy layups like Valley did against Western. Both boys are good players but they whole team was off, yes the whole team. Last time I checked it takes 5, 6, even 7 boys to make a team, not 1 or 2. I have seen Western break stronger presses than Valley had but it was by passing the ball, not dribbing it up court. 60ft. 6, you are right, it is still too early in the season to be so critical but the first few games are important at setting the stage for success in the season.

Jimmy,

First of all, "don't get caught watching the paint dry." Second, the picket fence is overrated. Finally, dribbling the ball with your head keeps the ball leveled and your body centered. Everyone knows that.
