i don't think it was the coaches fault...u can only teach the kids the things they want to learn...when they all already know everything..or should i say think they know everything...it is really hard to coach a team like that...i think that coach plummer is a great coach just in the wrong program...i personally think coach plummer could out coach any gven coach on any given night...if he had the players that wanted to be coached...

HAHAHAHA, coach plummer has NEVER outcoached anyone. The kids want to learn, but the coaches wont teach anything. You are right, you can only teach kids the things they want to learn, the things Plummer is trying to teach all the kids already know. I bet over half the team knows more about basketball than Plummer, and probably some of the fans too. I love his passion and dedication for Belpre Basketball, but its just not him. He is a good player, knows the game, just does not how to transform that into a good coach.

Here is the thing. Coach Plummber is a great guy. He puts every ounce into what he does. He has turned many things around in Belpre to help the kids. Unfortunatly, some of the kids already think they know it all. That is just a teenage kid in my book. However, we as parents need to show our kids dedication, hard work, good ethics at home to make them successful on the basketball court, football field, or whatever it maybe.
What I don't think is fair is coming on here bashing the coaches and all knowing that these kids read this stuff everyday. How do we expect them to respect their coaches, teachers, and others by us adults doing this online for all to see. (and yes, I am just as guilty). I pride myself in teaching my kids respect NO MATTER who you are! And sometimes I am guilty of my own teachings.

First off, go back to school and learn to spell...its PLUMMER and UNFORTUNATELY..its ok though..common mistake.
And these kids dont have to read this to not respect their coach. To gain respect, you must earn it. Plummer has done nothing to earn the respect of these kids. Sure, he is an adult and their coach, so they have to respect him if they want to play. I dont have any kids, but my parents always raised me to stand up for what i believe in, dont take anything from anyone, they also taught me to respect everyone, but respect has to be earned. I agree Plummer is a great guy, just not a great coach. And i am not a parent, or a player, i am just a person looking and seeing the obvious.

Sounds like this guy has a good head on his shoulders. As I said on another thread QUIT BLAMMING THE COACHING!!!! For that matter quit blamming the Ref's too. A few years ago Belpre fans were bashing Jordan Thornhill on here because he shot too much and blamed him for a game. I know many of you have kids on teams and an axe to grind, but get real. Im sure the staff at Belpre has more of an idea of who should be on varsity or starting rather than a overzealous parent or realative with an agenda. Be adults and except the fact that Belpre looses because they are not as good as many of the teams they are playing. It also cracks me up to hear well so and so should be on varsity, again deal with it support the kids who are on the court and the coaching staff who teaches them. According to several Belpre fans they were better than all but 2 teams they played last year. Get real and before it gets to the point where a decent coach will never want the job at Belpre or stay once he gets there.

Warren big in this one...Belpre is dealing with too many issues to pull off an upset in the WHS home opener.

Ok, for one, its blaming, not blamming. Shows how educated you are. I dont remember anyone ever bashing JT, people just said he needed to play more team ball, which i agree with, but JT was a great player. I dont have any kids at all, so i am not a parent, nor am i related to anyone on the team. I support the kids on the court, but obviously you cant win a game playing 6 guys. If the coaches are looking for someone else to step up, it can be Rashawn, give kids the chance and some kids will show they are gamers. You cant beat a coach ewing coached team by playing only 6 guys. Belpre was not better than all but two teams they played last year. VC was a better team, Warren was a better team, Burg was a better team, Fort Frye was a better team, thats 7 of Belpres 10 losses right there, but there are also games we should of won, when we were better than the other team. Like Marietta, Alexander (where we got outcoached when we played them at alex), and fed hock, i truly believe Belpre was a better team than fed hock. Fed Hock just had a better coach. The talent level at Belpre has not changed that much, Coach Stout won, so why cant Coach Plummer? All of you think Belpre is not talented, have you ever thought about maybe its the coaching? I would take Belpres team last year and win more than 12 games.

Here is something you can spell check 0-2 which is where your Eagles will soon be. How about cry babies. im sure after the Warren game there will be many Belpre fans sleeping on wet pillows from all tears shed over bad calls and coaching choices.

And we all get the privelidge of reading all of the whoas in Eagle land and how coaching and refes once again cost you the game. Do us all a favor and try to do your best to keep this one within 50pts.

I will have to take Warren in this one by 15, although I hope Belpre pulls off the upset. If Belpre wins, this will be the signature win that Coach Plummer is waiting for. Warren has the skill, size, and talent, but at the same time Belpre has Tate, Waderker (spelling?), and Loyland. I think Loyland's hustle and all around play could be the difference in this game. Loyland needs to stop Hebb. I would say Hebb is probably one of the most talented players in the area, he can drive (extremely quick first step), shoot from midrange, and rebound. He probably has the brightest future in this area as far as playing college ball. The main thing with Hebb is staying in front of him, you could really draw alot of charges, otherwise he will eat your lunch. Another thing is his passing, he doesn't look to pass alot. So sometimes he thinks he can do too much, so double team him and apply pressure to increase the chance of him committing a turnover.

One factor on how the game is going to be played is the refs. When I watched a couple of Warren games last year, Austin Cunningham impressed me with his ballhandling and basketball instincts. Those skills are very rare for kids in this area, especially ballhandling. Only being a freshman, he was very weak physically. A couple of months ago I saw him and he had not gotten any bigger. So that tells me one thing if I am Belpre, BODY HIM UP. See how he reacts, if history repeats itself from last year, he will get frustrated. It depends on how the game is reffed though, whether it is liberal or conservative. If I would have to guess, it's going to be reffed in Warren's favor because it's at home, especially in a close game. I have always said that good teams pull out a win even though the visiting team feels they are homed. So I guess we will see who the best team is on Wednesday night.

Here's one guy you can't body up up your advantage....Brandon Fivecoait. If the Warriors play as tough as Brandon tomorrow, they will win. Most of them might foul out, but they will win. Warren is physically stronger than Belpre. Hopefully, Hoon makes his lay-ups and somebody boxes out Loyland.

It's getting close to game time at the Coliseum!

Been watching all these kids since they were 3rd and 4th graders. Great group of kids on both teams. These 17 - 18 year old boys are living their "season in the sun" let them enjoy it. One thing I'm sure of, both teams will play hard. Comments such as will the Warriors try to man up the Eagles or maybe " A discussion about the matchups between Hebb and Loyland, Fivecoat and Tate or maybe Cunningham and Waderker would be great.

Good Luck to both teams tomorrow night. May everyone stay injury free.

GO Eagles

Coach Plummer doesnt know to body Austin Cunningham up, and he has probably never even heard of Brandon Fivecoait. He does not do any scouting, nor does he prepare his team for an upcoming game. I also, have been watching these kids since they were in middle school, to say Belpre has no talent is absurd. But, as for the game goes, i look for a hard fought game, both teams come to play every year in this one. It will be closer than last year, when Belpre lost by 43 points. Everyone on Belpres team should remember that game last year and not let it happen again! But Belpre gets outcoached downt the stretch in this one. Although i hope Belpre can pull off an upset.

Warren 68
Belpre 57

Hebb with a double-double 21 points, 14 rebounds
Tate with 20 points

Lots of Belpre-bashing is most def distracting from the game itself, which is probably a good thing.

Perk up, Eagles, you've made progress. Your boys will slice my Warriors' victory margin in half.

Warren 67
Belpre 46

Hebb has a night to remember, and the world will meet and remember Brandon Fivecoait.

eaglefan1...Kind of baffled here.... are you Coach P's alter-ego??? a disloyal staff member??? a disgruntled player??? you are so close to him you know his out-of-practice schedule (no scouting comment) you are present during practice ('nor does he prepare his team') you even know what he and knows, well in this case, doesn't know ('doesn't know to body AC')....or are you just another great fan!?! a know it all coach in the stands....Belpre needs no rivals, you do the bashing for us - Go Eagles right ;-)

FYI -pretty sure he knows 5coat - he is a Warren Boy you know!?!

one more thing - feel free to spell check - not a Belpre grad here! :-D

No i am not Coach P's alter-ego. No i am not a disloyal staff member. No i am not a disgruntled player. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that Plummer doesnt prepare his team, you can tell by watching the game. They will not work in practice how to defend anyone. I agree, warren wins the game, but closer than you think. But i hope the Eagles can pull of an upset. I am a Eagle fan, but not a Plummer fan.

Belpre wins on a Parsons "3" at the buzzer. Warren lost some senior leadership from last year. Look for a Joe Garret style of offense from the Eagles. It should be a great game. And for those who have no real post worthy material: if you don't like how the games are being coached or what players are playing where and when then stay HOME.

GO EAGLES!!!!!!

Eagle fans desire a Warren "W" but it's a non TVC game!!!!
