Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
A tip my dietician gave me was to cut the caffeine out because it makes you digest your food too fast. Use the sugar free flavor packets for water and after you get used to it, you won't miss the pop. She told me that diet pop was bad for you because, again, you digest your food too fast and it makes you actually feel hungrier, quicker. I had a horrible headache for about a week, but now I don't miss it. Good luck all!

In order to do this, you have to tell yourself you're going to. No ifs, ands or butts. It all starts in the hat holder.

And he could keep up with you?
Him running that race would be another reason for him to be called "Half a day..."

I am probably 3 months or so, from starting to try to run again. I need to get to about 290, before I take that on. I will start the race with you, but I am thinking you will need to go ahead of me. Now the 2010 race, maybe I can do a bit better. As for Holiday, he is in another stratosphere.
As for you Hosscat, I am just hoping to finish before the Parade starts.

What you need since its winter start off on the stationary bike or eliptical machine and build your way up its so much easier on the knees. That way when it starts to get warmer you can then go out an start running in small increments to build up to that 3 miles. Start off week 1 with 1 mile then every week go up 1/2 a mile. Dont try to tackle it all at once or you will get discouraged.
Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
bought an eliptical 5 days ago. I have been on it every day so far. It has already made me feel better. Will weigh in on Sunday for first weigh in.

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
I normally weigh on Tuesday evenings, but, this week was an exception, I weighed Wed evening. I gained .5 this week. My goal this week is to make sure I don't eat out as often so most of my intake is more whole foods and not processed. One wedding, one Christmas party are the challenges. Good thing was I lost a lb during Thanksgiving week, so the .5 doesn't hurt my feelings that much. Forward march!

I think your advise on getting back on the horse, after falling off, is right on. I believe many times, we fall off the wagon and we stay off, instead of fighting through and realy making a lifestyle change. that is my long term goal.

When I started this, I had to learn that it was a journey. Life is full of ups and downs, as is weight loss. Forgiveness for yourself is a great tool.
