it sure is!!! this is the first thing that has actually ever worked for me usually I hit 16 and flatline..... those were diets this is learning to eat correctly and with portions that is the biggest thing!!
also I am off my sleeping pill at night... and my prilosec and within the next couple weeks either my blood pressure pill will be split in half or cut out all together without my pill Monday morning I figured I'd go clean so they could do blood work they didn't anyways it was 110/88 last week it was 120/80 in the afternoon...

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
Congrats onb n ncf!
I know my greatest milestones were cutting meds down or out. It's why I started this whole journey. I know I've harped on it, but, the feeling you get when you no longer are classified as a hypertensive patient after 30 yrs or a diabetic after 20 is unreal compared to the icing on the cake, the weight loss. Keep it up, it's well worth the effort and most of all, YOU are well worth the effort! You GO!

Took the lb back off I gained last week, putting me back under my maintenance range by a bit. This maintaining is tricky, but, I'm working on getting the hang of it. Good luck tomorrow onb!

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
I was suppose to weigh in today but sticking with my schedule I skipped workingout on Tuesday. I need to change this but for some reason it seems I take most Tuesday and Friday's off. Add to that I am fighting a stupid right bicep injury that kills me when I do certain exercises.
Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
Here's a website I found that is a great resource. it's free, but there's a lot of ads. http://www.fitday.com/?404;http://fd-wi ... t/Home.asp
You can keep a food log [it tracks the nutritional value], and an exercise log [it tracks calories burned] in addition to keeping a running weight graph.
Several years ago I lost about 60 lbs by following a low-carb [South Beach] diet. I was still 20 lbs short of my goal weight when my adult grandson came to live with me 2 1/2 yrs ago, and I was forced to consider his preferences [not just my own] and bring bread and potatoes and other similar previously banished stuff back into my house. I had already regained some of my lost weight and then I quit smoking 3 months ago. I'm now up to 20 lbs regained in addition to those 20 I never lost in the first place, so I need to lose 40 lbs. I'm going back to my low-carb eating regimen.
To add a little perspective, I now weigh almost exactly what I weighed 42 years ago - when I was 8 months and 3 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. Except it's not "baby weight" I'm carrying now!

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
FIDO: I can relate after having my legs bones sawed to accomodate this new knee. It's no way to lose weight!! I got so weak and then had reactions to pain meds on top of it. Thought I'd never start regaining some strength. First time in my life I completely lost my appetite. I know we all joke about that when we want to lose, but, it's tough on the body. Good luck to you and I'll keep you in my prayers!
ncf: Good luck on the bicep injury and getting back on track!
onb: Thanks bunches, it's great to have your support! I'll be watching later today to see how you did!
cag: Good luck with your venture too, I know it isn't easy, but, it's so worth the effort. You going to the lunch today?

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
ncf: When I started WW's, the first week I lost 1.5 lbs. I thought to myself, geezzzz, most people come in here and the first week average loss is probably at least 4-5 lbs. I was frustrated because I knew I had a lot to lose, but, decided to give it a whirl and soon learned this is a new lifestyle for me and I wasn't in a race. Now, almost two years later, I'm down 92 lbs and my health is better than it was 20 years ago. Hang in there ncf, you are only out to do good for yourself and you're doing it if you've lost that much! Good job!

Re: Chart your weight loss for 2009 right here.
I hit thew scales today and it said 242.
That's 31 pounds down 42 more to go.
The sad thing is I can not tell a difference in the way I look which is still whale like.
