I signed up for the Memorial Day 5k yesterday. I ran last year and I did it in 41:57. Im hoping to have that under 35 this year. Ive been working hard and I weigh less so its a doable goal. Who else is running?

o-n-b: That's every woman's goal is to get back to the driver's license, huh? :122249 Congrats on the drop in clothes sizes, nuttin' feels better! I'm struggling this week. Had to cut most of my activity out to accomodate even more intense therapy for this knee. I was getting a little activity in the last couple weeks, but, everything still aggravates it, so time to cater to the knee again. Exercise helps so much to reduce my appetite and I'm having a battle, but, eventually, I'll be able to add it back in slowly. Cross your fingers it's soon!

Great job to ncf and tc! Wish I could run a marathon tc, but, that isn't in the cards, you tear 'em up though! Might volunteer to help on the path though if the knee cooperates! That'd be fun, what would I be? A watergirl??

I done well today no wanting to snack ect. and then tomorrow I will be in the basement for a couple days :122245 with no food! :122245 even better...

FIDO wrote:I'm down a lot since they sawed my jaw in half. I've been on a total liquid diet for over 3 weeks. I eat yogurt, apple sauce and pudding. I've started eating mashed taters. Anyway, I'm down at least 15 lbs since my surgery. I have 3 weeks left before I can sink my teeth in a huge ribeye. ;-)

Voluntary "jaw sawing" seems a bit extreme for weight loss purposes! Likewise "knee-sawing". And what's up with "locked in the basement", o-n-b? Hope you're all doing well!
I had a way less extreme dental problem 5+ years ago that made it difficult for me to "take a bite" that wasn't on a fork or spoon. If you can't eat a sandwich, it's a short step to cutting out bread altogether. And that led me to a "low-carb" [specifically the "South Beach"] diet. And that eventually led to a 60-lb weight loss. My dental hygienist always thought it was hilarious that my teeth started me on my diet. Right now, I weigh pretty close to what I weighed 5 yrs ago - but I have gone UP, not down over the last couple of years. I have a dentist's appointment on Wed. I'm going to tell Verna that I'm back to following that low-carb regimen for non-dental reasons and have lost a little weight.

I'm cleaning out the basement and once I am down the steps the only way I climb back up is to go potty

My knees still are screaming at me... give them a few more pounds and they may not scream as loud!! :122245

Yeaaaa o-n-b!! You are making great strides! I always had a good loss after a not so good loss or gain, you're doing great! I'm holding my own, which is all I want to do right now, but, not as easy cause I'm not active yet really....I'm hoping the 'active' will come, but, not so sure, knee still being a problem. Great job by you, you sound like you're working the program to a T!

thank you mum and I am glad you are still holding your own! I proud of you for maintaining and not giving up on the knee!!! I am sure there are days you want to!! :122245
I was so well behaved this week it was scary!! maybe cleaning the basement was the key  I am going to follow the same pattern this week on foods I ate I had the same lunch as I did last Thursday :122245
I need to start thinking for real where I want to stop and set that next goal next week :122245

Every little bit counts ncf! Keep it up!

I was presented my 'Lifetime' membership tonight at Weight Watchers. It lacks two weeks being two years ago that I started. I've been doin' the happy dance all evening! 92 lbs. gone and now I have to go to the next level and keep it off. Yeee hawwwwww!
