EASTERN PIKE
EASTERN PIKE
How does everyone feel on their Soccer program and what about getting a Football program?
Re: EASTERN PIKE
Why not start football? But if they do, they may get a lot of what Manchester got this past season.

The last 2 school districts you've attended had football.

Re: EASTERN PIKE
I don't see them ever fielding a football team. Too expensive to start a program in these hard times.
Re: EASTERN PIKE
I believe if that community wanted football they would have started a program sometime before now.
Re: EASTERN PIKE
everyone wants it besides the people that can get it done. spending would be an issue but if green, symmes valley, and schools like that can afford it so can eastern

Re: EASTERN PIKE
Eastern and South Webster are a like, neither one will ever have football. They like playing sports in Gym Shorts & Tee Shirts not shoulder pads and a helmet.
Re: EASTERN PIKE
eastern would be awsome at every sport if they had football. not for awhile in football but baseball, and basketball. everyone transfers out to piketon and waverly to play football, and end up being the best basketball player on there teams. all but 1 of piketons 1000 point scorers came from eastern and waverly has 1. it would only help with other sports
Re: EASTERN PIKE
i forgot all about miller and farmer. and im not sayin anything bad about any of the schools im just saying it happens and if we had football it would help keep kids there and help with us getting transfers.
Re: EASTERN PIKE
Eastern only has 101 boys. Waverly has around 25% of the boys grades 9-12 playing football and that is at a school that has been playing football for close to 100 years, in a year following years with records of 11-1 and 10-2. If Eastern had the same percentage of their boys play they'd have about 25 kids out for football. There isn't any reason to believe that they would considering that district has no history or tradition of football and I've heard nothing from the community over there indicating that the community wants football. Those numbers would make it very difficult to support a football program.

Re: EASTERN PIKE
I think his point is that deweese said it would keep Eastern from losing transfers and quoted Piketons 1000 point scorers who came from Eastern. Caudill, Vulgamore, and Williams brothers none played football, they left Eastern for other reasons.
Re: EASTERN PIKE
i know not all of them play football im just sayin some do. i wish they would have the rule for high school like they did in pee wee where if your school dont have the sport u can go to the closest school that has it and play.
