Freshman Basketball teams

Portsmouth's freshman are 5-0........it's been a long time since that's happened........we have 2 kids, Kyle Ratliff and Dion McKinley who are 6-4, and Trevor Brown who is 6-3. A good group of guards led by Len Collins, Seth Bratchett, and L.J.Adams.........

Portsmouth and Ironton will battle Friday night at IHS in a freshman contest featuring undefeated teams..........the winner will be in first place in the SEOAL South. Both squads have each defeated Jackson, Chillicothe, and Gallia Academy.........Ironton has had the greater margin of victory in those games. Portsmouth's frosh beat Jackson by 10, Chillicothe by 14, and beat Gallia Academy 46-38.

The Wellston Rockets Look Very Talented with a record of 2-0 against VC and Alexander. Their Freshman team practicall makes their JV team.

So why don't you say wellstons JV is there freshman and varsity team.

I don't believe the Greenfield frosh have lost, maybe one. The varsity is another story!

After seeing the Ironton frosh play I came away very impressed with the team play the utilized but one player stood out to me. i believe his number was 20 or 25, he played JV also and wore both numbers for the evening but I forget his frosh nuber. Very very fundamentally sound player that seemed to have a very good knowledge of the game. They were a very long athletic team that pressed effectively and scored well in transition combined with some good all around team defense and 3 pt shooting. #25/20 is going to be a player and with this group around him to push him that team could be special.

Ironton's freshman team didnt have 1 of their players there at the Portsmouth game which who would have helped out.

Actually they only had 6 players for the game and was missing 2 players Spencer was sick from what I was told. The other player missing was Kratzenberg.

Should be a good rematch if we have all our players the next game. It makes it tough when you play with only 6 players. Portsmouth has a very good Freshmen team.

Eastern is 3-1 the only game was alexander which should of won they had a bad shootin night around 30 to 25% from the field.
