Believe it or not, anything can happen. One thing to remember is that these are not professional athletes, but rather, kids. While Peebles 8th grade did pretty much have their way with everyone last year, they did have a down to the wire battle in the tournament final with Ripley if I remember right. Again, you never know.

LOL... it's hard to remember that fact that they r not professional athletes sometimes...the way those boys go out there and play...there are a lot of players on that team that have loads of potential and continue to surprise me more and more after every game

And if I remember right I believe It took one of Ripley's best games and one of Peebles worst for that to be as close a game as it was. And if i remember correctly Peebles was doing fine until Trent went out with an injury, the team was inexperienced playing in that type of environment and situation without their leader on the court...but now, this year, they are a much more balanced and improved team and have proved they can play as a Team and not just depend on one player to win the game for them

The Whiteoak boys have 3 boys that weren't on the team last year and most of the players grew an exceptional amount in height and they are very talented. I have never seen Peebles but I do know Whiteoak has to be much better than last year.

Whiteoak is much improved from last year. Doc Seip is as athletic as it gets and is back this season as he didn't play last year, Jessie Gipson played up on the 8th grade last year due to numbers and is back with his class and better than ever and Luke Taggert who is a transfer from Lynchburg plays hard and smart as well. Throw in Trueblood, Doctor, Roberts, Douglas, and Butler...they are only going to get better.

No, peeblessportsfan, it isn't hard to remember that they are kids. They ALL do things, say things, make mistakes, and act like kids. They are also kids in junior high. Yes, they are a good team right now, there is no doubt about that, but things change a lot when they get to high school. Kids get shuffled around and put different places, other kids grow and develop and catch up, its just a much different situation.
Read your last paragraph, that's the point I'm making. You never know what's going to happen. Kids are on, they are off, they have good nights, they have bad nights, someone gets in foul trouble, whatever. Anything can happen. That's reality.

If anyone in SHL think that they can play Peebles 8th grade boys there wrong because
I watch them play against White Oak and they didn't play good but they had kids step up and got the job DONE.

7th grade nice job today.

Peebles had early foul trouble (Arey, McAdow) and both had to sit. Peebles went into halftime down by 2. After it was all said and done, the final score was 56 to 39 in favor of Peebles. The individual scoring was as follows:

Arey 9pts,
McAdow 16pts,
Johnson 2pts,
Chandler 10pts,
Gray 11pts,
Crothers 8pts,

Crothers, Chandler, Gray, Hemming, Demint, Porter all played well, especially in the second half. We got off to a slow start but never lost our composure. Arey and McAdow contributed greatly to the win despite the early foul trouble. Porter and DeMint did not score but their contributions on defense were a key factor in the victory.

The 7th grade boys team also had a victory today. The final score was 27 - 21 in favor of the Indains. Individual scoring was as follows:

Johnson 2
Fenner 7
Kelley 2
Brown 4
Planck 5
Gross 7

Merrick and Masterson were also factors in this victory.

Great job!!

Congratulations to the Peebles Indians' Junior High Boys teams on two wins Saturday over Whiteoak. It was great to see the 7th grade get their first win and it sounds like a lot of 8th graders contributed in the 18 point win over Whiteoak after being down by two points at half-time.

shljunkie...i was just tring to make a point(though it was an exaggerated one) about how good the boys on the 8th grade team are.It isn't really that hard to remember they are just in Jr. High. I think we all know that they r human and as kids in Jr. High they will make mistakes from time to time, as they showed in the first half of the W.O. game. But their high level of talent, skill level, and maturity of this team(which is wat i was trying to make my point about) was shown throughout the entire 2nd half, when they came back from being down seven pts. @ one point in the game(2pts @ the half) and ending up winning the game by 18.
