Bloom Carroll at Logan; 12/6/11

Post by Loganchiefsnation »

Season opener for Logan Tuesday night at Jim's Gym! I didnt get a chance to see BC over the weekend so I hope some have info on how they looked and what they look to do. Logan NEEDS to win this one to set the tone for the season imo. Its a rough December with the games they have and winning the first one would be huge vs BC. Logan will try and use pressure to get easy transition buckets and they must cut down on silly turnovers.

Bloom Carroll starters are very athletic, very good ball handlers, good defense and many kids can score on their team. I believe Logan will more than have their hands full with these kids...by the way they are young several juniors and only a couple of seniors, so they will be good next year as well.

Although I would like to see Logan win this one B-C has more than what the young Chiefs can handle:

Bloom Carroll 67
Logan 51

Bloom Carroll is an interesting team this year. The most glaring asset is that they have three or four guys that can absolutely light up a scoreboard. Another asset is the ability to play many different styles. By this I mean if a team wants to get up and down, or grind it out in the half court I think BC can adapt. The advantage I think Logan has is that they have seen BC play this year. BC is going into this thing based off last years film, and a roster from Southeasternohio Preps! Hardly the type of scouting report that Coach Petty and Coach Goodyear like to hand out. I think this could be an interesting game with the Chiefs fired up for the opener.

I watched Bloom Carroll's pg(Isaac Mcglone) play over the summer in Florida. He will be one to watch this season.

Logan loses big tonight. Guard play and to many turnovers the downfall. BC is very good.

Bloom Carroll 72
Logan 55

The Chiefs played hard but were just outmatched. I thought the post players played well for Logan. The one thing that they didn't want to do was make it a track meet with BC, and that's exactly what happened. Good luck the rest of the way.

Petty is one of the best coaches around and gets the most out of his kids and always has.

Wow just got in from game B C the real deal.If they dont win state this year may never. Beat an outstanding Logan team best they have been in years. Logan by far plays the best in your face def. i have seen in years and they are great on the helpside. I had read in other post how good they were and they made a believer out of me. Logans execution on the off. end of floor also was oustanding. They really know how to take care of ball. Coach Helber has them looking good. But they just got beat by a team that can really play. Newark better be ready

Do I get a since of sarcasm from your last post?
Pfloyd,
Where was that in your face defense you were posting about? Maybe its a heck of a lot easier to get in Millersport and Fed Hocks faces. Bloom got any shot they wanted.....when they wanted. Can anyone tell me exactly what offense they were attempting to run?I know it was the first game and I hope they will get better but I have my doubts.
One positive was the play of Myers. It was nice to see him come and play the way he did. I just wish the rest of the team would play that way.
