Combs had an off night Tuesday and scored 24. Combs seems to show up for big games. I'll say he goes for 30 and Manchester wins by around 8 or 10. If you think Manchester is a one man team, then you haven't seen them play

If Arey lets Combs get 30 the will be in trouble, unless he goes with the strategy of letting Travis get his and shutting someone else down. I have seen this be successful and backfire! I think Manchester has a nice supporting cast but I think they feed of Travis and he takes a lot of attention of people. It would be interesting to see how manchester would respond without Combs!

Good luck to both Teams! Wish I could see this game! I enjoy watching Combs compete and really enjoy watching Trent Arey control a game and dish it to his teammates!

Im gonna stay solid with my first call

Peebles by six. But this is a toss up!

70-64

Manchesters starting line up is full of players who can score 15-20 a night if needed...so if somehow peebles does stop combs(which I don't think anyone can)then they have other players that can score if need be

lol come on man......

I HEAVILY disagree with this statement, and Combs is a great player and manchester is a good team but there is not one player on Manchester besides Combs that could produce 15-20 ppg a night consistently! Ricketts only got in double figures like 2 or 3 times last year, and West had a few games but he never once got 20. CNE is in a rebuilding year and held him to Combs to like 13 this year. Sure a few of them may get 15 or 20 occasionally but to say their line up is full of guys who can score 15-20 a night and that their is no one who can stop Combs is just irrational
sorry bud but..........

that my friends, is the ugly truth!

First of all I never said Manchester was a bad team, and as several of you have correctly pointed out Combs make them go. Defend him well and they are not very productive. So as I said before they are overrated and Peebles will win by double digits.

It's not about whether Arey lets Combs score 30 or not, it's not like he even has a chioce in it, he can't stop him, and I don't believe there is anybody in the league that can handle him one on one.
I mean come on he is by far the best all-around player in the S.H.L. two years running and as for the rest of the team I believe they can handle anything Peebles puts on the floor. Hounds by 15+!

Get real. Two years running? I dont think he was close to Justice last season and he is not far and away the best this season. If Peebles can limit his production(and they can if we glue Arey to his hip) they have a good shot at winning this one. Should be great, im glad im going to be able to watch it.

THIS!!!! I AGREE very much.
and Warrior89....I was talking about coach Arey, but I definitely think Trent Arey would have a say in him getting 30 or not. So how did CNE hold him to like 13? They just played a man to man? and I know whiteoak held him to 11 points last year and Eastern held him to 10. Great player and Sorry to bust your bubble but ANY player in the SHL year this year could possibly be guarded. You don't think ROb Beucler will have some tricks to limit Combs. Get Real man. Some of these posts about Manchester are just irrational

Well for one we work as a team, theres not only one person scoring theres like the starting five that does!! and the people that comes off the bench does too, and we have the sames players that made it to the elite 8. and Beau is a good player and can shoot outside when he is open, but manchester has good defense so he wont be open! So thats the ugly truth!

Manchester by 10.

The same players minus a First Team All-State 6'7" post, a decent starting gaurd(Mckenzie Smith), and two of the better bench players in the SHL in Josh Ross and Jordan Perry.

Hmmmmmmmm, well maybe someone didn't read the entire thread. If you would be kind enough to look back you would see that I said the following things..

"Good Luck to both teams, should be an exciting game! But Combs is player of the year for a reason, I would not be surprised at all if he goes off! and it ends up being manchester by 9!"

"Peebles lost Justice and Countryman who were putting up over 40 ppg! so if it was based on scoring the edge would definitely be with manchester. IMO"

"I think Manchester has a nice supporting cast but I think they feed of Travis and he takes a lot of attention of people. It would be interesting to see how manchester would respond without Combs!"

"Combs is a great player and manchester is a good team but there is not one player on Manchester besides Combs that could produce 15-20 ppg a night consistently!"

"Sure a few of them may get 15 or 20 occasionally but to say their line up is full of guys who can score 15-20 a night and that their is no one who can stop Combs is just irrational"

So listen and read close hounds20....

I have a very non-bias opinion, unlike yourself whose username is "hounds20", I could really care less who wins. If you read this post and then also read my previous posts one would think you would see that I more than once complimented manchester, combs, and their supporting cast, only went on to say it would be interesting to see how manchester would respond without Combs and I responded to streetballas post by saying that there is not one player on Manchester besides Combs that could produce 15-20 ppg a night consistently. You seemed to have misunderstood the conversation. No worries, happens to the best of us. ;)

Good luck to both teams! Should be a great HS game.

Oh and I almost forgot.....

Manchester does not have the same team they went to the Elite Eight with...they graduated five seniors last year including Mackenzie Smith, Perry, Josh Ross and Blake Blevins "former Division IV player of the year".

and as much as I hate saying it....
