Re: Favorite pinning combination
very very hard to pin someone cranking a power half with boots in..
good to get the hips opened up, but gotta get a leg out and get off to the side to really sink it in for the pin..
my favorite
reversing the half... under the head to the armpit, under the elbow to the forehead

Not real sure that I agree with you on that one.
I have pinned over 50 people with boots and power half.

Re: Favorite pinning combination
My favorite pinning combo goes along with my favorite takedown. Good ole head and arm.

Re: Favorite pinning combination
palmer isnt even a big pinner with the legs in..can rack up the points though...
very common now to let the arm slip over the head and get a potentially dangerous
get your points, get the leg out, get off to the side and finish with a half

the refs just call things quicker...
especially around here...
easy way to defend the power half really...
as long as your shoulders are loose.. the guys that are loose can let the elbow go over the head and the ref will stop it

I have to agree with boogerred, I have pinned several people with this also. After cranking the powerhalf, I would come under the chin with my top arm and pull the head to me, it worked effectively also.
They don't call much potentially dangerous in college.

Re: Favorite pinning combination
i won a lot of matches cranking a power half too..against puds
you gotta T up with a good guy to pin em.. open the hips with the power half, take the leg out, get out to the side to finish it..

I had two pins with it at the Massillon Perry District in 1994, not puds.
