Wrestling season - Who to watch at high school & jr high?
Well, the most wonderful time of the year is nearly upon us. Yup, it's almost wrestling season!
Who will be the wrestlers to watch this season at the High School and Jr. High levels? Who do you think is going to step up and win, or make a huge impact, on their respective league, at districts, and at the state level?
Just trying to get some wrestling discussions going and would like to know who you are going to watch for this season.

The road for the HS Blue Devils in the SEOAL will be tougher this year they return some good starters in Taylor and Tackett and a few suprises in between. Allen looks to be ready to step up and make a impact they are also getting a couple of good freshmen looking to cut there teeth this year at the HS level.
A 4- peat is not out of the question for the Blue Devils but Logan will return some good wrestlers and they were knocking on our door at the league meet last year. The JR high team well what can you say Coach May always gets the best out of his kids. Mash and Stevens will be contenders in every meet they wrestle I believe they are headed to WSAZ this year so that will be a good test for the whole team. Gallia has a good feeder program in there youth league both the JR high and the HS are starting to reap the benifits

Cooper has got some heart and yes should do well this year, NY i agree will be the ones to beat in most classes , WF returning both there lighter guys Huffman and there 106 both real good ZT has a couple seniors that look good speakman, graves, and wiesenburg The bearcats will be gritty as always with a couple returning DQ but lost some key leaders it will be interesting to see them ,Jackson's Barr will be a force this year ,Shaw WCH any one who ties up with that Sr will have there hands full thats for sure, SE has some mean kids that are working hard, heard they are putting in the summer work. THE aces will have 5 or 6 that should be SQ ,there is some good kids out and should be a real good season

Jackson- barr is back looks real good and his brother as well but they dont seem to have a full roster but on the plus side jr high numbers are way up

As far as I know the one in Lancaster is open to all spectators.
Re: Wrestling season - Who to watch at high school & jr high
Jacksons Jr High looks to have plenty of talent but will struggle to gain experience throughout the first part of the season. Look for Humphrys to have them ready by the time league gets here. The varsity is struggling for numbers but have a few returners. Simon is back and can be very tough, Barr will look for a district maybe state shot this year, Castle is still young but all heart at heavy he will need to keep getting stronger, Hurlehy will need to work on technique will win some, Younger Barr is strong and will improve as the season goes on, Dameron looking much improved over last year, Spencer very strong but technique needs worked on especially for his weight class, a few others rounding out the team some first year wrestlers who will improve with time. Probably 4 to 6 weight classes unfilled, what a shame. Didn't seem to get much encouragement from the football staff.
