That is awesome. Big congrats to the Rockets on making it to the district finals.

Sparky......you are 100% accurate. I played in the Southeast, but currently coach in the Southwest, so I know both sides first hand....for those who have never experienced both, the state tournament for D1, 2, and 3 in the Southwest is ridiculous. In the Southeast, you can win 1 game and be crowned sectional champs ( obviously only with a bye) , while most teams in the Southwest have to win at least 3 games to be named sectional champs. That's awesome that Fayetteville made it Districts though! normally the D4 Southwest only has one or two high caliber teams (unlike D1,2, and 3), but we scrimmaged Cincinnati Country Day and they were pretty athletic. In my opinion it was a pretty huge win for the Fayetteville program

All,

I just wanted to thank everyone for reading the Highland County Press in print and/or online this basketball season. Hope everyone enjoyed the coverage of the teams from Highland County. Next year, I hope to have even more on teams from Highland County. — Stephen Forsha, sports editor of The Highland County Press.

ugly, i believe you have been misinformed about ripley having the same opportunity as eastern. i was told a long time ago that ripley and fayetteville waited a couple of years before applying to the se. the big issue was the travel distances for all sports. eastern being the farthest east team in the southwest convinced the powers to be that travelling to the southeast was better than travelling to the southwest. also the fact that they are so close to sr32 made the trips to the se schools much easier. i have never heard anything about gtown and western brown ever trying to go to the se as they too are from brown county.

Sorry, Cinderella. Fayetteville gracefully exits from the Whoop-Tee-Do 32, losing 76-44.
