There is a time and a place and I think it should have been contained until the two teams were off the floor. Great win and every reason to be excited, just not while this young man was at the line, and yes the coach was acting like a crazed Tigger at this point.

You have to be kidding me... Why would a Alex (oh wait, is it Meigs this week?) fan even care? Here are some facts for ya:
1. He didn't do anything to distract the shooter except call time out as any coach would do.
2. He was excited for his team and reacted accordingly.

If you don't agree with his reaction fine, but don't make up behavior that did not happen.

OK, I wasn't going to post anything else on this thread, well, I'm gonna, and then I'm done.

For those of you true basketball fans, Coach V had other stints besides NC State. What is so funny about this entire thing is that one of my best friends, and co-workers, husband, was a dean at NC State, and just could do nothing but rave about Jimmie V. He worked with Valvano on a daily basis. Now, my friend's husband never raved about anyone, but he could not contain himself when it came to Coach Valvano.

That said, some may need to take a step back and look at Coach V. Alot of criticism has been thown towards Coach E., unjustifiably, but that, I guess, is OK.

Look beyond the superficial comparisons, "Oh, he was going for a NCAA title, Oh, he was going for a conference championship, whatever..............."

Coach V coached at Rutgers before his stint at NC State. What did he do? Well, he took his coat off and ran lay-up drills with his team, in warm-ups, in his dress pants and tie, to fire up the student body. It worked. He would have to go change his clothes before the start of the game, due to the condition of his clothes.

I find it interesting that all of the critics lose site of this. Coach V. is eternally revered for his work, justifiably so. He was very passionate, and emotional, about his kids.

We get a coach down this way, who makes a ton of sacrifices, and makes a very strong emotional commitment to the program, and he gets villified by some folks who have nothing to do with the program, for showing some enthusiasm. What is wrong with being excited????I guess, go figure.........

This reaction is typical of people that want to cause trouble. Facts are that Fed. Hock. played hard for a coach that has worked very hard to blend this team together. When you work hard for something and put your heart into it .....you react when it comes together. The focus should be on the kids and their hard work, not the reation of a coach. Coach E... Keep working hard and showing these boys you care about them and their program. The only thing that matters are these boys so keep doing what you are doing. I love watching the excitment you bring to the game. Good luck tonight boys, PLAY HARD!

It's been a week since this happened. I think the topic is now worn out. Good luck to the Lancers tonight.

You are right A78. This thread has about ran it's course.

I apologize to Coach E for posting the video. I had no idea there would be this much controversy about it.

I also apologize for the irreparable damage I have done to any posters that viewed the video.

Good Luck Lancers against the 'burg.

well for those who can date back to the late 70`s early 80`s. when a curly head kid dribbling a ball everywhere he went and taking game winning shots by himself at a hoop or just in the air on the sidewalk. you just dont understand who he is and never will and thats ok i looked upto that kid until he freddie krugered me

BUT NOONE LOVES HIM LIKE HE DOES JUST ASK HIM   :!:  8)

this is also a credit to having friends like coach jim osborne who has a ton of info to share
