Have heard that Alexander may also be there as well but no-one will wrestle more that a tri. Belpre has Wiggers, Packard and the light weight (can't remember his name) that can go with anyone at this event. But do agree that the Eagles probably do not have enough to take the win over Athens on the team front. Marietta, have not heard or seem much about them, is everyone back and healthy? Maybe Schenk11 can shed some light.

Belpre's has good individual wrestlers but they just don't have the numbers to compete against a full team. They would have to basically pin out to win any head to head dual.

Athens and Marietta really put it on Belpre. Belpre only won two matches against Athens. I wonder if Mclaughlin will wrestle 160 again at tvc.

Packard won i think 25-9.. and Belpre's Wigger's 189 won his match.. Packard is a beast...Steven tried hard so good job on effort...Ashton is a great wrestler and a joy to watch...Steven is also a joy to watch. Steven is an amazing young man and I look for him to make it to state again this year and be a placer again he is a great wrestler...

It was a tri-meet with Marietta and Belpre. Athens defeated Marietta 43-25 and Belpre 67-11. Belpre won at 160 as Ashton Packard won over Steven McLaughlin who was wrestling up a weight class in a technical fall. Packard looked very good. Phillip Wiggers pinned Brian Follrod for the Belpre points. Athens was awarded 5 forfeits and got pins from Josh Dingess at 112, Caleb Covington at 135, Joey Young at 189, jordan Sweeney at 215. Seth Stalder had a technical Fall at 125, winning 17-1 and John Lazear won 11-6 at 130 and Tyler Jackson won 14-9 at 103. Athens got pins against Marietta from Tyler Jackson, Joey Young, Jordan Sweeney and Jon Keener at 285. Stephen McLaughlin won 12-4 for a four point win at 152, Ethan Stalder won 9-6 at 145, Stephen Rodriquez won 3-1 at 119, and Brian Follrod won 5-1 at 171. Marietta got pins from Justin Hasley, Nate Hupp and an overtime win from Jacob Hupp. They also got points Noah Cech.The match was tied 25-25, but Athens ended the match with three consecutive pins. Nice crowd on hand. The Match can be seen on Nelsonville TV Cable.

Kerr won in OT, 10-5. Great Match. Dingess lead 5-3, but gave up a reversal in the third period.

It shows a lot of character and heart for Mclaughlin to wrestle up for the better match that is what makes you better. Asthon is very good likewise for Steven. I have said all along Athens is pretty good it seems to continue.

Watched it on 15. Rob W and Gibson did a great job on TV. TVC has some great wrestlers.

I watched the match on 15 and wow Packard handled Mclaughlin. I have watched Ashton wrestle Robert Norway at least 5 times over 5 years and Ashton has won all of them but I have never seen him this dominating. When Ashton turns it on it is on.

Channel 15 is the local cable company out of Nelsonville they tape all sports of all ages in the Athens county area an. It is a fun program they even bring out old games from back in the day 80's and 90's.
