Why did the girls game between Peebles and North Adams count for a league game, while the boys game between the two schools did count as a league game?

Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Don't forget about Ripley. I believe they are at the top of the league with NA and Lynchburg.
Peebles and NA's girls only play one game this year as is normal between big school division and small school division. That game was the tournament game. Last years league game was at NA. The boys teams meet again Jan 9th at NA. Last seasons league game between the two was at Peebles. Had the tournament game been designated a league game that would have meant Peebles would have had 3 years in row hosting NA for a league game. I think that's why the Jan 9th game was designated a league game versus the tournament game.

Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
How many years in a row has nothing to do with it. Last year Peebles lost a home game to Manchester due the tourney. True, NA and Peebles girls play only once, not sure why the boys were schedule to play twice but at any rate the league game should've been the county tourney game but thankgoodness NA got their way on that one, maybe it will work to Peebles favor after all!

The boys next match-up at North Adams will count as the league game. The girls only play once this year, so that is the league game.
The boys didn't count as the league game becuase it was North Adams' year to host the league game. Therefore, it was decided to change the league game to the Jan. 9th match-up at North Adams.
In most cases, the first round game at the classic is considered a league game. The consolation/championship game are non-league contests.

Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Thanks socfan!! Are you getting your kids ready for the big match-up next week?
Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
I don't mean to dispute you SOC fan but I have to correct you. The first game is always the league game, even if it means you lose a home league game, just the luck of how it rotates every year, someone often finds themselves in that spot. This year, NA boys coach threw enough heecackle about it and Peebles AD agreed to change it. Don't mean to be mean about it but thats just how it is.
Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Alright, we will agree to make it the league game! Add another league win to the NA boys league record and loss to the Peebles record socfan! Man, you just can't keep everyone happy!
Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Have all the injured players for Eastern Brown returned? I heard that they had a couple of starters injured earlier this season.

Slamdunk,
You seem very bitter toward Peebles, any reason for that? Just curious.

A little. The reason will stay a secret on this message board though as it would give away my secret identity .

I had heard at the beginning of the season that the Clifton girl was to return around this time of the season. So, if she is back, it is a whole new ballgame. She is a very good point guard and will make a difference for the Lady Warriors.

Thanks socfan for the updates and corrections!
Just a side note. I know that Ripley and Fayetteville are in the Southern Hills League. The teams that I listed are the teams that come through the Southeast District during tournament time.
Ripley is 5-1, 2-0 and they play in the large division.
Fayetteville Perry is 4-2, 3-2 and they play in the small division.

Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Is Macon Eastern Brown and Sardinia Eastern Brown the same school? If so,why the two different names? Thanks!
Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
Good question Black Panther!
The OHSAA lists Sardinia. Can someone from the Southern Hills League answer that question?

Re: How is the SHL shaping up?
It's the same school.
The school is very near Macon (think 1/2 size of South Webster)
nearby is main city of Eastern Brown school district....Sardinia

The reason I ask is, when I put the Sardina address in to get directions I get nothing....Chillicothe plays there next Sat and it should be a good game....If I get the map right I'll be there..
