Clay boys definitely played much better tonight and like ignert1 said they definitely need to learn to protect a large lead like they had. Turnovers was WAY down tonight and the Graham boy, although his points doesn't reflect it, played a great game until he got hurt. When these boys play like a team they are good.....

btw the scores that I was given were that the 3 points that ignert1 missed went to a three pointer by Bussler leaving him with 15 for the night. Great team effort to have three boys in double digits!!!!!!

Congrats to the Clay Team on their win.
Jumper I have read some of your postings in the past regarding the Green Coach maybe you should type and talk less. I would like to invite you to come and watch a Green game, odds are you will ask for a refund when it's over.

The Cat's are playing better in spurts, then getting lost underneath and seeming to give up. Then they pull it together again for awhile. It still makes me pull my hair out watching them stand around during a shot instead of sticking a butt in the gut of the opposition. This requires absolutely NO athletic ability, just plain, common sense of the most basic fundamentals of the game. Green isn't good enough yet to trade shots with anyone, let alone giving 2nd,3rd,4th chances to your opponent.
Congrats to Clay and keep at it Cat's, you'll get there eventually.

jumper,
Who is the JV coach and where is he from? He does a good job with what he has (numbers wise). Few in the Furnace even know his name.

Please pan-man, don't post the names if it is so. There are too many gossip columns going on on here now, and as far as coach Trainer, give him a break guys. I've met the man and like his philosophy of handling young men. Discipline is at the front of everything he does, but he has been trying to "break" some wild colts that have had it their way a long time. Also I think "if" Clay would have a talented player, or more that would have a chance to play at the next level, Trainer would have an upper hand, and would love to promote them to wherever their family wanted. Some of last year's seniors came back to help in our kid's summer camp, and after this year, I expect the same will happen again. As far as taking threes with a good lead, I won't try to defend that, but Clay doesn't have a dominant post game and the boys are not used to getting wide open shots from most any distance. I can understand them getting itchy to toss the rock from three-land. I'm sure that situation will be addressed, and corrected, but Clay doesn't really have too many great shooters, yet I've heard they practice a ton on it. I think coach King is a big help there, and I hope as the year goes on it will improve, but it may not show up totally this season. I hope this guy down at Jr. high teaches fundamentals of shooting so hopefully they will be farther along as Freshmen.

Good points ignert, but I think I'd take a turnover of aggression rather than omission. It's not a smart move to take on three defenders on the court, or a back alley, but Clay has been so timid to finish games between the ears, more than between the lines, that maybe he's looking for a leader from the upperclassmen to be able to carry the burden. I think fans need to quit focusing on the down side, (yes I see it too) and getting on here to batter the coaches, or school, or the janitor, whatever. It won't get better by complaining in front of the computer, but ask the coach, or AD what's up, or what YOU can do to help. I have no enemies that I know of, but many who may disagree with me. That said, I won't bash someone I disagree with just because we disagree. What I say is what I mean, just ask my wife and kids. I know full well how disappointing losing is, my high school team I played on was awful, but I learned some very valuable life lessons from it. Soooooooo GO PANTHERS!

Kitchen should have kept the Pollard kid and begged Cory Dyer to Play. Then the problem would have been fixed. This sophomore class isn’t the answer. This team would be undefeated with the right players on the floor. WOW

You never beg kids too play. If 5 guys play together they can beat any team on any given night. One kid does not make or break a team , that is why there is no i in team. Go watch the movie Hoosiers and you will know what I am talking about. You never beg a kid too play.

Undefeated......PLEASE?????

Who are you going to bring in? Lebron James?

Minford just beat you guys by 50 points? Pollard and the other kid going to make up that difference????

Play with and support the kids that are committed to your team!
