They run it down the court and fire up threes and off balanced lay-ups! Why didn't they freeze the ball and run some clock, Why didn't they just go to 4 corners and wait to be fouled, there is no shot clock in HS? Smith misses a foul shot in the last minute, Minford missed several bunny shots too. The refs calls were sick towards the end. Minford steals the ball from the guard at the top of the key, the burg guard dives at him and graps his shirt tail to stop him and no call. Burg player dives over a Minford player for a lose ball falls to the ground and trys to throw the ball and the ref said he signaled time out? Stegman walked I know twice because I watched his pviot foot, again no call. But, it all comes down to a 6 point lead with 3 min left. Minford didn't keep their composer and blew it. There is no excuse for them to lose this game. Minford needs to learn how to put these games away and it all comes down to mental tuffness and attitude.

Burg was already looking ahead to Oak Hill on friday I suppose, i'm sure Barrick didn't think the same way as the Burg posters on here did.
Secondly, BG77 Smith was not on fire by no means! He missed shot after shot that in the past has went in without question! He hasn't really looked the same out there this year as compared to the past... I feel he is trying to do to much, which the offense does generate off of him but, I feel he just needs to let the game come to him and don't think about every shot he takes!!
Down the stretch there were some crucial calls missed by the officials as well though. I would feel that some other posters believed this as well but no one has said anything about them. They would miss a call on one end of the floor and seem to try and make up for it on the other! The play where the Burg player dove on to the floor for the ball I thought was clearly a walk but maybe he didn't move once he had posession of the ball? I maybe wrong, and no the Burg player didn't step out of bounds on the side line! It was right in front of me!I wanted the call at the time though

It was a very physical game though, that's for sure!!
All in all it was definately a great game by both teams! I did say before the game that if a team broke 50 would win the game, but fell short by only 3 and that Stegman would have to be held in check for 20 or less to win!
Tough one to lose Falcons but don't hang your heads! Go back on the Friday and Saturday and get 2 big W's!

I have talked to several colleagues of mine who are or have been involved in officiating, and they have told me as well that the officiating in this area has gotten terrible over the last few years. They told me that some of these guys just seem to be going out there just to go through the motions and collect an easy check. These guys need to be evaluated more often to keep them up to par. When things happen right in front of you and you swallow your whistle, be ready for some complaining. There was quite a bit of this going on during this game.

Are you trying to tell this site that all the calls at home went against you? Come on I seen many bad calls in the first half against Burg. There are always calls that the other team thinks that are bad, but it all comes down to everything that happens during the game alway evens up at the end. I think you are mad over a bunch of sophomores and 1 freshman did not blowup in the last 2 minutes down by 6, but your Falcons did.
