Take Fairland off that list, for some odd reason they think they stand a chance playing Bishop Hartley.Mad_Dogg wrote:i believe it starts in 2012. i hope they pick up someone else wk 5 insted of rockhill. here are the open dates week 5. i would almost rather see us play east then rock hill. we played rock hill the last 4 seasons. 2011 3-7, 2010 2-8, 2009 3-7, 2008 0-10. 8-32 in the 4 seasons. not many 2nd level points4th n Goal wrote:What schedule changes are there for next season? ‘Burg schools award contracts to renovate stadium

The Wheelersburg school board on Thursday awarded two contracts, valued at $3.2 million, to renovate Ed Miller Football Stadium.
Mullins Construction of Wheelersburg was awarded a facilities project contract, which calls for new home bleachers, press box, field house, concession stand and public restroom facility.
The other contract will replace the current grass football field with turf. The company Field Turf USA was award the contract.
The Board of Education has had to reject all bids two other times. Each time the bids were more than 10 percent over estimate. When that occurs the district is required by law to reject them.
“The third time we are going to be OK. Each time we’ve gone back to the plans and tried to make some adjustments to get everything within budget. With market conditions and some of the changes we made, we were able to get what we feel are some good bids,†Knapp said.
Knapp said the stadium renovation is part of a master facilities plan to get all of the district’s facilities onto one campus.
He said the funding for the project is coming from a variety of source.
“We are paying for this through a combination of permanent improvement funds and community donations,†Knapp said.
He said the the Wheelersburg Athletic Association has played a key role in making the project a reality. Association representatives presented the board on Thursday night with a check for $20,000 to go toward project costs.
Knapp said all of the work should be completed before the start of football season.

The orange turf thing has kind of grown on me. It would certainly be different than anything around. Orange turf, lines black, black end zones with orange burg, black pirate head on the 50.4th n Goal wrote:How about orange field turf?

Any chance at all of getting the orange turf? I'm sure it would cost extra, but in seeing that the bid was put in for 3.2 million, I would guess they should be able to cover that extra cost.

The turf is green with Burg logos in the endzones-looks great, what are your thoughts of moving the Burg-Ironton game home opener to Saturday (this is being talked about right now).
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2012
I like the idea if its going to be a competitive game. I would hate to get embarrassed in front of the entire area while debuting the new stadium.Burg#1 wrote:The turf is green with Burg logos in the endzones-looks great, what are your thoughts of moving the Burg-Ironton game home opener to Saturday (this is being talked about right now).
