I like the idea if its going to be a competitive game. I would hate to get embarrassed in front of the entire area while debuting the new stadium.
I agree. It would suck to get blown out the first game at the new stadium

Is it a "W" at midfield? I think Saturday would be great! Huge gate, split the pot and concessions! = $$$$$ for the school, boosters and band.

Cant wait to see it!!!! The field and stadium will be booming!!!! Saturday night opener would be excellent to start our winning streak!!! With our young freshman coming up this year to play with our young (VERY talented) football team, I think it will be a thing! Im sure this year, on our new turf, it will be a great game against a great ball club like the ironton fighting tigers. So, after we beat Ironton, in a close one, we will go on to beat everybody else in an undefeated year! GO PIRATES!

I'd rather see a HUGE Pirate head in the middle of the field. Would be more intimidating then just a "W"

This is what they need to put in the middle

I'm Pretty sure that Andrew Gifford is going to be playing as well. He got hurt sophmore year and will be coming back for his senior season.

I looked on the school website and he was listed as a RB/LB for 2010.

I look for this team to go about 7 - 3 or 6 - 4 this season.

I heard he had moved in. What grade will he be in this fall? I also heard there was a move-in from South Point as well.

With the tough schedule, I think 7-3 would be a good finish and plenty of points to make the playoffs.

You really think that Da Burg will only go 7-3? That was their record last year. They were very young and got beat by 3 teams loaded with seniors! I believe this year, those 3 teams will get beat IMO! The Pirates will probably have a challenge with Ironton and Jackson, but that's it.

I agree that the 3 teams who beat them last year were all senior loaded teams and they will likely beat all 3 of those teams this year. Until the first game and I see how the new QB plays, I will be hesitant to post anything saying they will be 10-0, but I hope they can do that! Ironton and West are always tough games. Jackson and Coal Grove will be new games which will be tough as well.
