I agree. It would suck to get blown out the first game at the new stadiumfbnut wrote:I like the idea if its going to be a competitive game. Is it a "W" at midfield? I think Saturday would be great! Huge gate, split the pot and concessions! = $$$$$ for the school, boosters and band.Burg#1 wrote:The turf is green with Burg logos in the endzones-looks great, what are your thoughts of moving the Burg-Ironton game home opener to Saturday (this is being talked about right now).

Cant wait to see it!!!! The field and stadium will be booming!!!! Saturday night opener would be excellent to start our winning streak!!! With our young freshman coming up this year to play with our young (VERY talented) football team, I think it will be a thing! Im sure this year, on our new turf, it will be a great game against a great ball club like the ironton fighting tigers. So, after we beat Ironton, in a close one, we will go on to beat everybody else in an undefeated year! GO PIRATES!

I'd rather see a HUGE Pirate head in the middle of the field. Would be more intimidating then just a "W"
This is what they need to put in the middle

As sad as I am to see the grass go away, I am very excited to see the boys come out and play this year!
Saturday opener would for sure be an intense and exciting game!

I'm Pretty sure that Andrew Gifford is going to be playing as well. He got hurt sophmore year and will be coming back for his senior season.

Where does he play? Line, RB, WR???
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2012
I looked on the school website and he was listed as a RB/LB for 2010.yabbadabbadoo wrote:Reallybro??1100 wrote:I'm Pretty sure that Andrew Gifford is going to be playing as well. He got hurt sophmore year and will be coming back for his senior season.

Northwest QB enrolled at burg, lives in the district. starts lifting with the team next week. thoughts? strong kid, great arm
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2012
I heard he had moved in. What grade will he be in this fall? I also heard there was a move-in from South Point as well.wheelersburg fan 89 wrote:Northwest QB enrolled at burg, lives in the district. starts lifting with the team next week. thoughts? strong kid, great arm
With the tough schedule, I think 7-3 would be a good finish and plenty of points to make the playoffs.eagles 89 wrote:I look for this team to go about 7 - 3 or 6 - 4 this season.

I agree, that would be a good season and should earn quite a few points

Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2012
You really think that Da Burg will only go 7-3? That was their record last year. They were very young and got beat by 3 teams loaded with seniors! I believe this year, those 3 teams will get beat IMO! The Pirates will probably have a challenge with Ironton and Jackson, but that's it.
Re: Wheelersburg Pirates 2012
I agree that the 3 teams who beat them last year were all senior loaded teams and they will likely beat all 3 of those teams this year. Until the first game and I see how the new QB plays, I will be hesitant to post anything saying they will be 10-0, but I hope they can do that! Ironton and West are always tough games. Jackson and Coal Grove will be new games which will be tough as well.
