Not arguing with you Stan, you've had my respect since that classy post you made. I've seen this scenario unfold countless times in my 35 years of being involved in high school football. Small public schools bloated from feasting on other small public schools then run into a private school buzzsaw in the mid-rounds of the playoffs. Anyone with even an elementary grasp of high school football could have seen this coming from a mile away tonight. Still, the Elite 8 is an outstanding accomplishment for the Cadets.Stan_Marsh wrote:Can't argue with you anymore Oaf. Your right. I wouldn't call Fort a pretender, but NC is legit. Can't wrap my head around what FF was trying to establish offensively in the first half. The Oaf wrote:Not a surprise at all. Fort Frye completely exposed and outmatched. Total pretenders for the Regional Title. Running clock up next in the second half......

FF is well coached, this game isn't over. We'll have to see how the second half starts.

As a member of the band, back in the day, thank you. The work they do and their performances, really deserve much more acknowledgment than what these kids receive. Kudos to the FF band.
I've stayed out of all of the banter, as I don't post much on here anymore. That said, The Oaf, some might hate me to say this, is a buddy and a friend to me on here. Has been for a long time. While I didn't particularly care for some of his harshness, he was still, accurate, with his prediction for how this game would evolve. FF had a great year, but now, welcome to reality. Your team, and it's supporters, really have no idea what reality is, until you reach this point in the post season. Oaf knew what the cadets would face, and was quite frank about it. I am in that same boat.
So, Cadets, great season (barring a miracle), enjoy your place in your school's history.

Running clock in effect; have to feel for Fort Frye's kids on the way it's ending, but like the above have said this blowout was possible and it happened.
FF needs to upgrade their non league games in future to prepare for consecutive tough games. Newcomerston & Wirt County are not very good and Northridge has been trying to get out of the cellar.
Good luck next week, Wave.

Wow the radio announcers on 100.9 are absolutely unprofessional the one guy just said the coach for Newark Catholic probably doesn't even know the names of half of his team... SMH

Agree. I heard this, and a couple of more comments from them that were to put it simply, troubling, and almost offensive. Not the guy with the deep voice, his "color" man, has been quite "off color" with his comments tonight. Just sayin'.Thereddragin wrote:Wow the radio announcers on 100.9 are absolutely unprofessional the one guy just said the coach for Newark Catholic probably doesn't even know the names of half of his team... Absolutely! It's time people stood up and spoke what they wanted to say. Private schools can hold an upper advantage. Don't believe me? See bishop Hartley.formerfcfan wrote:Haven't you heard?
