ok so this houseworth (sr.) kid iv heard has been doing great in the weight room and is looking for a starting position. He might get a takle spot over conway, and make conway a def man only.
Oh and it looks like Dale is going to pikeville..they r paying him 10 grand a year to play and go so....

From what I hear housewourth wont even get any playing time cause he just isn't any kind of an athlete.

I've heard good things about this kid in the weightroom. If he works his tail off he will see the field somehow somewhere. Coach has made statements like this and he backed it up. Ones that don't put in the time, generally are not rewarded with PT. He was quite clear with that the first practice last year to someone. He told them that they hadn't did what was expected and better work their but off to make it up. He also told another that they had did everything he asked of them and would be rewarded. He was truthful.

Houseworth has played 3 years, but is relatively unknown and has never played varsity other that mop-up duty. I think he kinda of realized that this was his senior year and he needed to step-up if he wanted to play, and that has what he has been doing. I think the leadership will come from two players Trevon Pendleton and Tyler McGraw, they were two of the most vocal players last year and will probably lead this year

Looks like we had the same idea about Murphy at the same time OSU77

I asked about him a week or so ago and I was told he's in love. He need a good talking to from coach. He is extremely talented and I really think we would've beaten Ready had he been available. He has excellent vision as a running back and probably was the best blocker of the backs last year. He and Alfie ran the read option plays to perfection at times last year. He is also a very good DE. He could definately play college ball somewhere.

Murphy has not been in the weightroom at all... which is not good with the Coach...being in love is great in all but it wont take him that far in life. And i believe he can go to College too.

Murphy is playing baseball, so therefore I doubt he will be in the weight room much until summer. He is a talented player (he is more talented at defensive end than a running back in my opinion), but by not being in the weight room he is only hurting himself. I still think that he will be a good player for West next year just because he is naturally strong and talented, but maybe not as good as he could be. Also with him putting on some weight it might make Triplett consider moving him to tight end or fullback on offense. Because they will be deep at running back

I hope he does what he needs to do. He is a fine player and a good runner. If not TE is a possibility. I just hope coach talks to him about this stuff with him now. We don't need team termoil. Fullback would be an option, but I think 55's right, Compton will be tough to beat out at that spot.

I beleive Lee Compton will definatley be hard to beat out no matter the postion....we do have depth which could help us keep some fresh legs....

I do think Compton will play Fullback some, but not as much as everyone thinks. When we go I-form (which isn't much) he will be Fullback, and when we go into the T he might be a halfback. But honestly I don't think Triplett will want to lose him on the perimeter as a blocker.

I agree with sider... Last year we had some mean bockers at TE with Compton and Ethan Morgan.
This year i do believe Compton will play alot of TE more than Fb because we still need those big strong TE's
