As of 11:35 p.m. Friday night, Wellston does not have a replacement team (sounds like a strike doesn't it) to play in less than 24 hours.

Jackson and Athens will still play at 4 p.m as originally scheduled.

I'll be there after 3 p.m. in the hospitality (food and drink :122245 ) room whether anybody else shows up or not. :122245

keyser,

Show me the way to the hospitality and I will be there as well. I get spoiled at the Chillicothe Hoops Showcase with all the good food. I might have to find some media credentials to get some of that food. Maybe SEOP will let me be a writer for the event....

GO CAVS!!!

hitchbone.....The hospitality room is actually in the school's library....Nice library with TVs and plenty of space. They've had meats and cheeses and vegetables and chips and cookies in the past, along with water and pop.

Whether anything else exciting goes on that day, I know I get plenty to eat that day. :122245

Wow, this is truly unfortunate. It sounds almost like the wheels fell of the bus on this event.

What a crappy way to get stuck without a team, at the last minute..........

No, no...kudos to finding a team that quickly, and even getting their lineup in the program (obviously took some extra hard work from a few)

.... 1/5 of your regualr season being non-OHSAA Ohio schools

Again, the National Hoops Classic was once a great, great thing......but Jackson/Athens was 2nd most highlighted game of the event.....

Final score of the third game: Granville Christian 67, Wellston 61

Granville Christian is now 8-2 and is a good fundamentally sound team from what I saw. A couple of good shooters, they took good shots, made the extra pass, worked the ball to find the open man, played under control, ran back door cuts well, set good screens, executed well and didn't panic when they fell behind. Well-coached too.

I agree with you that Granville Christian played a great game. Wellston is the more talented team but did not look ready to play. I think Granville Christian wanted it more last night. Wellston had a chance to put the game away middle of the 4th quarter and let the Lions make a run. Granville Christian has a couple of real good players. I enjoyed the day, nice event, and I saw in the program that next season the National Hoops Classic is going to go on for three days. I will be back next season. Yesterdays games were all real competitive. I was real impressed with the team from Detroit also. They are very young but also played very tough against Chillicothe.
