trojandave, you obviously are the #1 PHS fan and I always look forward to your posts. What do you see as the main problem for the Trojans??
Re: Portsmouth vs Jackson Tue 20 Jan
Dave yopu are right, they have the talent to get back on the right track,it is up to THEM, THE TEAM, THE PLAYERS, if they want to or not, no one else can do it, NOT EVEN THE COACHES,the kids have to realize, they are not going to win, just because they have the talent,,,they have to produce it every game, querter, every second, we stand around and wait for someone else to make a play,

out of bounds: I think the defense just isn't there like it was earlier in the year......one of the main reasons that Portsmouth started 5-0 was that the defense was good enough, not great though, to win games........the rebounding continues to be a problem, and was last night.........Anthony simply hasn't gotten enough help on the glass......he's doing his part........
I also think that Williams and Horne have been the only Trojans who have played consistently good basketball for us.........we just haven't had anyone else step up in any one particular area.........I was very encouraged by what I saw from Forrest Johnson last night........I hope he gets a chance to start vs. Marietta..........
Those are my opinions as to what is ailing the team at this moment, but those are just eyeball tests.........one thing's for certain.......we are talented, so this slide is very hard to really explain..........one of the most bizarre turnarounds in a long time that I've seen at Portsmouth.............

Thanks Dave, one thing is for sure...they are a team I would try to dodge in the Sectional Draw!!! They are scary talented!!!!
Re: Portsmouth vs Jackson Tue 20 Jan
I totaly agree Dave, Forest Johnson has to get a start, he has proven he deserves it in the last two games.
I think we also missed the play of Nate Cadogan last night.

biggdowgg: You and I walked out of that gym last night not very happy about a number of things........and if those things don't get fixed in a short time, which will be very difficult, then we will continue to slide to who knows where.........like I said, our schedule simply will not allow W's with performances like last night........
out of bounds: We were talented last year........and Zane Trace made us one and done.........goodness, I hope the same fate doesn't await us this year.......we are very capable of making a good tourney run.......or very capable of going home after Round 1 again..........

I agree you were very talented. It's has to be very frustrating to watch. Talent in the small schools has peaks and valleys and when you have it and don't do anything with it SUCKS!
