Misunderstanding or not, it was more than a pat on the back and the attitude of the deputy was uncalled for. He is supposed to be a professional.

I wasn't there to witness the incident. I only know what has been written on here. Regardless of whether or not the assistant coach knew the guy, the fan shouldn't have done that during the game. He should have waited until after the game to catch up with his friend. If they are friends, it sounds like a poor judgement in time as to when to talk to the assistant.

little doggy,
I'll ask coach Stulley if he knows the guy, if they are friends and if it was a mis-understanding. From the look of things as they happended and long afterwards he didn't have a clue who the guy was. What took place was uncalled for and the actions of the Deputy was even worse.
Regardless of how hard or soft the "tap on the shoulder" was, YOU DON'T LAY YOUR HANDS ON A PLAYER, COACH OR OFFICIAL DURING THE GAME. The guy is fortunate he didn't get decked.
But even after that incident the Waverly coaching staff continued to take crap from adult fans. Totally classless.

Yes, Waverly lost, and we'll take the defeat with class.
Minford should try winning with class.

Again it was a good win for Minford. As far as the calls going against you. Nahhhh!
I have watched several games between these two and I have seen several over the back calls not called on you. Well there was an officiating crew that will actually make that call there last night, and that is what got your guys in foul trouble. Price cutting down the lane also got your boys in trouble trying to swat everthing that went up in the air and hitting the shooter in the process. officiating was not the reason for your loss. Your boys seemed to get frustrated about the calls going against them that normally do not. I sat right behind your bench, and did not see the incident you were talking about. As far as yelling from our stands the only derogatory yelling I heard came from the other side.

Great job Falcons! Good game waverly, and good luck with your other ROAD games!

What are you talking about salemcat? Who said anything about the officiating costing Waverly the game? I have not read anything on here stating that.

It doesn't really matter where you were sitting. The facts remain the same. The incidents mentioned took place.
What "derogatory yelling" did you hear coming from the Waverly side and who was it aimed at?

I was 2 rows behind the waverly bench, the fan coming down and harrassing the coach did happen, but I heard nothing else,I agree ,the timing was wrong and it shouldn't have happened but I also think the other crap you are talking about is being a bit stretched do to the incident at the end of the game :|

Not the student section mind you, but the adults. And then at the end of the game with about 30 seconds left, an adult male comes out of the stands grabs one of the waverly coaches while the game is going on and yells how do you like them falcons now. From the clock operator to the fans in the stands it is the worst group of fans i have ever encountered. You know going in that you are going to get screwed, but it gets worse every year.

Yeah Minford really put the screws to you in football too, didnt they. They held your DI QB prospect in check and blew you off the field. That was all the officiating, wasnt it? Those officials missed their blocks, couldnt catch passes, missed tackles. Man those officials totally blew their assignments in football season. They were the reason you lost by a bundle.

If a Minford fan touched a coach, that was 100% wrong. But dont sit there and act like Waverly ADULTS dont yell stuff at the opposing kids and coaches. If you do, I will laugh in your face. Every school has parents that get out of line and forget they are watching kids.

You Minford fans must be subconsciously feeling the refs got Waverly. No one has posted anything about the refs, just the behavior of fans. If you want to brag about beating our football team this year--stand in line. Northwest almost beat us.

Bleeding Red,

I'm also still trying to find which Waverly fans are complaining about the refs on this thread. When someone finds it, please let me know. Also, did you happen to see the article on the front page of bucknuts.com about our D-I prospect?

Adults yelling stuff at opposing players is totally classless and uncalled for. Maybe I'm in my own little world and miss everything going on around me at these games but I have not heard Waverly ADULTS doing that.

Yes I sure did.

I for one hope the best for the kid, as I have said the ENTIRE thread about him, it would be great to see him in scarlet and grey.

I guess that you guys were just treated like animals during your short time spent in Minford the other night. Sorry our quaint little town treated you the way they did.

Bleeding Red, you obviously condone the actions of your fans. There is already a school in the SOC that we expect this kind of behavior. People that defend these actions might be part of the problem. If someone hears somebody screaming at a player: tell them to shut up! You wouldn't want your kid being harassed by an adult. Most every sports fan will help the ref make a call from 100 feet away but, leave the kids and coaches alone.
