Wheelersburg @ Valley Friday, Jan 23
Re: Wheelersburg @ Valley Friday, Jan 23
Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game. It sucks losing on a last second shot, but is so sweet winning by one...right burg? I wish both teams the best of luck in the remaainder of the season.

Might I suggest playing Roy Orbison's 'Crying'
Very humorous with the violin and all. Crying by Roy Orbison is burg's school song isn't it? They sing and shout when they win, but cry the blues when they lose. When they lose it seems that it is not because they were outmatched by a better team but more often than not it is because they were cheated some way, somehow. I have never heard of a burg team losing and someone saying that they were beat by a better team.
My bad drrabbit.
Actually, thats a cello...geez dont they teach you guys anything?! We do sing the blues...we even have the best chorus in the county

Who on here from the Burg is crying? That's what I love about you Minford people. You always try to turn things around when in fact it is you who is stirring the pot. How about focusing on who all Minford has left to play. Hopefully they can pull the upset against either Valley or Oak Hill.

Sounds like good coaching by the Valley staff. Down 8 in the fourth quarter and still win. That's what you call adjustments.

You are right yabba....why am I on here stirring up stuff when nobody is ever on a Minford thread talking junk when they did not play Minford that night! If you guys can't take some honesty on here then give your wife back her purse after the game. People from every school in southern ohio get on each others threads and stir a little junk up. Don't get so testy. To be real honest, both schools have good programs and should do well the rest of the season. Good luck and don't cast stones in a glass house.

They could have done a better job as BURG seemed to make it easy at some points but yes Valley adjusted pretty well

Cousin,
I graduated with Yabba. And even at his prime, I doubt that he had pects like that.

I watched the game on the V-Cast and I thought for sure the shot was after the clock hit zero and the buzzer sounded, but if Yabba and Doc say it was good then I take their word for it. All the Burg had to do was get the rebound or knock the ball out of there, but it looked like he airballed the shot and Arbaugh was just in the right place at the right time. The Pirates need to take better care of the ball down the strecth when they have that big of a lead. I didn't understand why Andy took a shot from around 12 to 15 feet out with around 1:20 something left when they had the lead. Why not make the Indians foul you until you get to go to the line?
Oh well, you can't win them all and this loss won't kill the Burgs chances for the title. Great game by both teams. Good luck to Valley the rest of the seaon.

Great game tonight... Burg is such a powerhouse and they find a way to be in evergame no matter the talent level.
My 2 cents...
The shot was good by about .2-.3 seconds.
Barrick can force tempo on any team at any time.
This is as wide open as any SOC that I've ever seen.
Burg is very talented, but Valley played much harder. (especially defensively)
I'm suprised that Valley could win a game in the 40's.
What a freaking effort!!!!

I think that may just be the kids being young, and wanting to hit the "big" shot....even with the lead. Most of the Burg and Valley kids are all underclassmen and it's going to be fun to watch them battle over the next few years.....even if it is from VCAST..

maybe thats what coach told them to do, but he shot anyway? if so , they need to work on Displine?
Re: Wheelersburg @ Valley Friday, Jan 23
Just to be accurate, it was more like a 6-foot jumper. It was from the middle of the lane. Not 12-15 feet out. He is better than 50% on inside 8 feet so it wasn't that bad of a decision but I, personally, was hoping for a even more sure shot. If it had went in, no one would be complaining...
