1.) Same outcome as the game at The Rock.

2.) The plan is for the field to be ready by 2009 Football Season...

I would have disagree on number one, I think the siders are gonna be strong again this year :122245

I think that the official seating capacity is around 4,400, with the home side larger than the visitors side......the home side will go approximately 25 rows up. The main entrance is to be located at the corner of Gallia and Waller Sts. There is supposed to be a big Trojan head at midfield, and the end zones are to be red or blue.

The fieldhouse that is being currently constructed will house the home locker room as well as the concession stands and restrooms.

From my understanding.........the scheduled completion date is early this summer......at least the football stadium.....so it looks very much like we'll begin play in Trojan Stadium this August.

A new football stadium in a downtown venue.....and a brand new levy to go along with it.........can't wait to see the finished product......

So what kind of walla are they going to put around the stadium? Hopefully not chain link. I think a tall blac wrought iton fence would look kinda cool or brick but that would be too exspensive probably.

I believe the actual wall surrounding the stadium will not be a chain link fence but some type of solid wall material.......and the field turf is supposed to be the same as what Ohio State has at the Horseshoe.........

I think it's just awesome that Portsmouth went to the trouble of building a new Ironton High School Playoff Facility! That...well, it just touches me!

On a serious note...how many playoff games has Ironton played at Portsmouth Spartan Stadium? 13! Most schoolls don't even have that many playoff games in the school's history!

Like they said though, nothing too good for their friends down in Ironton ;-)

This is going to be an awesome post-season venue. It would be good to see ole downtown portsmouth rocking on friday nights late in november. The levy is a great idea, gives it some character. On a side note, I think every school that gets turf now gets the same as OSU, I'm sure whatever company did it does just about every stadium.

An interesting tidbit...........I'm being told after all the promises...........the baseball field now has been stripped of the turf field, grass instead......will not have a sprinkler system for grass, (turf was promised so all could use the field even for youth football practice in the outfield area in the fall) no fieldhouse for equipment or players to change, no lights and last but not least....no restrooms............if this is the case, what the #$@! are we leaving Branch Rickey??? The first complex meeting held stated we would have all the above........now, we're outta money...........the 10million is only 5 1/2 million now after the great BARGAIN on land.......it was stated the guy who owned 85% of the property was going to give the school a good deal........4 1/2 million for vacant property.......hmmm..............also no track around the football field as promised either.......since we don't own.....I wonder whether if any decisions are even been made by school officials........and who is actually on the committee calling the shots?
