North Adams at West Union 1-27

Post by TAR HEEL FAN44 »

This is Senior night for the Dragons (which makes no sense to me). I heard that Craig Unger could get his 1000pt in this game. Is there any truth to that and how many does he need?

TarHeelFan,

I do believe Kraig only needs a few...not sure how many. I don't think this is out of the ordinary for the Dragons. Someone can correct me but if I remember, I have sat through a NA/WU game at West Union where I watched Senior Night, Steel Band performance, and a Marching Band routine...Blaine Roush dotted the "I" - all on the same night. Rumor had it that the Soil Judging Team was ready to go if any of the above mentioned groups couldn't.

With the type of crowd North Adams has been bringing for 20 years, it seems nothing should be scheduled, especially when three games are usually being played on those nights.

Course if it were at North Adams we'd be treated to retire a Copas jersey night, honor Dave Young or a copas night, or maybe a in memory of the state championship that we got cheated on night, so, get ya some popcorn and a water and settle in!

Does any one know how many pionts Craig needs to get to 1000 pionts?

I believe he needs 9. He needed 23 points at Whiteoak the other night and I believe he scored 14.

Looks like you haven't been to too many North Adams games. The only special nights we have are at the end of season like every one else (Senior night, Homecoming).

Been to more than I care to recount slamdunk and theres usually been some sort of treat. I'm thinking to add to the festivities Man on the Microphone could perform a little sideshow of humor and classic one-liners.
On another note.....North Adams by as many or as more as before...however many Dave Young wants.

Man on the Mic,

Was this "dotting of the I" by Blaine Roush before or after he went on to star as "Biff" in Back to the Future? haha

I do believe young Unger needs 9 to reach 1,000. I'll take N.A. by 22.

SHLjunkie,

Will there be some sort of retirement ceremony for Dave Young when he coaches his last game this season?

Not all homecoming games have been at the end of the season for North Adams. I vaguely remember one back in the mid 1990's when they had one in the old gym against Northwest and it was like the second or third game of the year.

shljunkie,

For someone who really doesn't enjoy my postings...you seem to direct some of your comments in my direction. Whether you want to believe it or not, I wasn't being that fictitious in my original posting. By the way, what's the deal with you and your weird and unnatural relationship with David Young? You mentioned him in three of your three postings on this thread.

hoopin,

Great comment! Now...why don't you make like a tree and get outta here?

Do/Have they retired numbers at North Adams? I could be wrong but I think they have retired a few at Piketon. I think every school should honor anyone who makes 2nd team all district or better by having a wall of fame - but you rarely see stuff like that.

Jimmy,

I think there is a framed #10 jersey in the cafetorium. I don't believe it's retired since others have worn the number since. I think they did that to honor Nathan's accomplishments.

Sparky,

I probably will miss someone but here it goes:

Larry Fossitt
Pat Dubbs
Blaine Roush
Mark Willett
Greg Grooms (thanks socfan)
Carl Schnieder
Kyle Brewer

Man on Mic, that makes since. I think Kyle might be the best coach they have had their since Dubbs? Not sure if that is a true compliment though? North Adams has had only 2 coaches since 1981! That has to be a record for not only Shl but maybe whole SE district?

West Union Coaches:

Fossett - 87-89 1987 = 15-5 1988 = 19-4 1989 = 18-5
Dubbs - 90-98? 1990 = 18-5 1991 = 10-13 1992 = 5-16 1993 = 8-13 1994 = 9-12
Roush - 99-00? 99 = 11-10 00 = 2-19
Willett - 01-05
Grooms - 06-07?
Schneider - 08
Brewer - 09

Might be wrong with years. Records are pretty accurate.

Jimmy,

You seem like a true stat man. And yes...I usually do make a lot of sense.

Also, according to your data, Kyle only has two years left on his contract before the Dragons hire another field manager. I'm going by the numbers...I hope he sticks it out because I agree with you...I think he will be successful.
