SOC Soccer- Who Plays?

Post by sportsfan »

Who plays in the SOC soccer season and how do they crown the league champion? One division or two?

There are 2 divisions. Each team plays their division teams 2x. 2 pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie. In the case of a tie, I believe it comes down to head to head records and then goes to GF and GA to determine the winners. SOCI is S.Webster, Valley, Eastern, New Boston and Clay. SOCII is Waverly, Wheelersburg, Minford, Northwest and West.

Thanks. Do cross division games count in the standings other than overall record?

There are no tiebreakers. Total points is the only factor. Also the league is in the process of reviewing the 2pts for a win and 1pt for a tie. It will most likely be changed to the standard 3pt and 1pt for next season.

Did this change for the 2012 season?

Yes - This year the conference will go 3pts for a win and 1pt for a tie.

A lot of teams play across the division, but those games do not affect standings
