Falcons did the respectful thing by kneeling on what could of been a 50-0 score, but the game score was 43-0.
Against Burg, scored in the fourth and stat wise 115 rushing on Burg, 102 passing for 217.
Against Minford, no score and only entered Minford once and stat wise the Mohawks 70 rushing: 21 passing for 91 total yards.
Both Minford and Wheelersburg can score points, run the ball very well and have shown signs of stingy defensive fronts.
Throw the records out in this rivalry. This game will be won by the team with fewer miscues.
I'll be rooting for the Falcons to fly just over the Pirates ship. 24-21.
All true point but you forgot a very important one. Northwest had just lost to Burg the week before in a game that they really thought they could compete in. I'm sure that Northwest didnt come into this game with the same fire they had the week before. After reading some of the post in the Burg vs. Northwest thread about the behavior of the Northwest players on the sidelines during the game to know they were not into this game. Furthermore anyone who knows sports knows that you can never compare common opponents in games like these.
Similar to the lack of fire Florida State took into Wake Forest this week huh?
Yea I guess so or you could say the lack of fire Ohio State showed at the end of theirs!!!

You're probably right. Heck why waste the money to turn the lights on 2 more times? Just turn in equipement tomorrow and roll out the round balls.

Just remember, Valley still has to beat Wheelersburg, which they have never done. Valley still has to beat Minford, which they haven't done in 5 years. Don't engrave that trophy just yet. They have beaten West and been flying high in 2009 and 2010 and both years lost to Minford and Burg to round out the season. They finish the year at Burg and at Minford. Don't be suprised if one or both of those teams jump up and beat the Indians.

Don't mind Here4fun. He is just an uneducated ball of energy.

Still not sold on the Pirates based on the quality of wins. I believe Minford would be 6-1 playing their schedule this year. Things will come to the surface Friday. Maybe Burg is that good. We will see.

I think they (Minford) beat Waverly, but the Tigers are improving... I also think this week will be a pretty good game. Burg doesn't have the big boys up front that they've had in the past and Minford can line up and get physical in the run game. Minford doesn't have an athlete in the same league as the Shears boy but Minford could (should) win the battle of the line of scrimmage. I think this is a very interesting game this week.

As for Minford and Valley, the Falcons have been a playoff team and got the best of the Indians late in some hard fought contests. They'll have to play the game of their game of the year to beat the Indians this season... The talent level isn't that close this season.

And I agree Bleeding... Minford would be 6-1 or 5-2 (at worst) playing Burg's schedule this season.

Bleeding Red wrote:Minford's line play was the best Friday vs Northwest than it has been since pre-season. I see it continuing, and that is going to be the difference in this game. Defensive ends have to stay at home, defensive line needs to get Shears in the backfield and get multiple helmets on him. IMO Burg's weak link is their line play. I see Minford winning that matchup.

I see Shears getting yards, but Minford's defense is not going to let him run crazy like some of the other Pirate opponents did. Minford has also played a much tougher schedule so far this year. That will be a key in the difference of this game. I am not sold on how good this 6-1 Burg team is this year as they havent played a team with a winning record since Ironton week 1. That one got ugly.

Burg 21
Minford 28

As an outsider, I really don't see how you can say Minford has played a much tougher schedule!!!!!

I see it this way!!!

Da Burg - 38

Minford - 14

Wobycat- I know it was a jamboree or w.e but Minford handled Fairland quite easily earlier this year. Im also curious to know which Minford games you have seen.

Obviously they both cant win out since they play each other this week.

Well lets see bleeding red minford got beat by Meigs and Coal Grove beat them and VALLEY beat Coal Grove. minford got slammed by West and who was it that beat West ? oh it was VALLEY so dont even think your little falcons stand a chance against VALLEY. So quit talking about last years teams they will not get you into the playoffs this year you better worry what is standing in front of you WHEELERSBURG and VALLEY.....!!!!!!

I'm a Valley supporter, but I do think Minford stands a chance against us, Here4Fun. Typically, the Valley Minford came is hard fought and a close game. But I believe this thread is about the Burg Minford game, let's not get off topic.

And lol at bleeding red quote "uneducated ball of energy"!!

I know this but even if they didnt play Valley Burg and Minford still play each other so one of them have to lose at least one game. Therefore it is impossible for both to winout.

wobycat wrote:Minford would have lost to Fairland and Ironton, they may lose to Waverly. With no disrespect, I have watched Minford play and they have a few good pieces but also need some work. Burg will win by about 2 to 3 scores. Burg is not as good as in the past but better than what most are thinking.
Wrong! Minford completely dominated Fairland in their scrimmage. That game wouldn't even be close. I am not going to even act like Minford would beat Ironton because they wouldn't. Minford would be 6-1 having played Burgs schedule. Anyone that says otherwise is talking out of their rear end.
