The Vinton County Vikings invade Boston Field on Senior Night for NY. The Buckeyes are coming off a 41-14 win at Meigs in which they played a terrible first half. Can NY right the course and start to look like the NY of weeks 1-6? On the other side, it has been a long season in McArthur, as the Vikings have only win on the season.

The Buckeyes have played Vinton County more times than any other team, as the Vikings have been on NY's schedule every year since consolidation in 1967. No other school has been on NY's schedule every year of the Buckeyes existence. However, the two teams did not play in 1973, as Vinton County had to cancel the game, along with other games, due to the Vinton County Teachers Strike.

This will be the 44th time the Buckeyes have played the Vikings. Nelsonville-York has dominated Vinton County over the years to the tune of 35 wins and 8 losses. Within those 8 losses, 7 went right down to the wire. Of Vinton County's 8 wins, only one - 1996 - was by more than one touchdown. In fact, 4 of VC's 8 wins in the series were by only 1 point: '83, '90, '91, and '95. '69 saw a 2 point VC victory and '99 saw a 3 point VC victory. In '86, VC won by 6 points. The sole Viking Blowout came in 1996, a 36 point spread.

Buckeyes come out focused this week! Should handle Vinton County pretty easily. I'm happy with last week's performance, it was what we needed was a wake up call and to be in a tough game for once and the buckeyes reacted well the second half. Great focused group we have in buckeyeland. Mistakes are gonna happen and they never gave up, just kept fighting til the end!

Vinton county has nothing to lose so they will give it everything they got im sure throwing the ball and take some chances so NY has to stay focused ... Im sure they are not looking past any game... GO BUCKS KEEP IT 1-0 EVERYTIME

As the season wears down, I have now taken an interest in NY. Would love to see them and Valley meet at some point in Reg 19....still havent forgot that 21-14 loss back in the late 90s. lol

These games definitely don't get anyone ready for the playoffs so I hope at least the Athens game is competitive because the Bucks will need it come week 12 (They've already won week 11 IMO).
