Nelsonville-York youth wrestling

Congrats to the Nelsonville-York youth wrestler who qualified for the Grade school state championships in Marion Ohio. District place at New Lexington 1st place Colt Yinger D3 75lb, 1st Tyler Speelman D2 65lb, 2nd place Collin Yinger D2 55lb and 3rd place Donovan McCollister D2 75lb. Travis Meeks just missed qualfing he was beating the Champion 6-0 and got head and armed and pinned with 5 seconds left. Hayden Bolyard also wrestled well and just missed qualifing. Colt was 2nd in the state last year, Collin 7th and Tyler qualified so they hope to build on that.

Travis wrestled a great match . However ryan was ahead 2-0. Travis scored 6 straight to take the lead 6-2. Ryan had 3 back points coming which would of cut the lead to 6-5. Travis almost had a reversal at this point but was unsuccessful.ryan may of had another set of back points coming i am not sure. He than had the pin with 5 seconds left in the match. Travis actually deserved a better outcome . It was not 6-0 however. Thanks

My bad on the score, it was 6-2 going to the 3rd and Meeks chose down and got tuned with the head and arm so 3 backs was coming. however the final would have been 6-5 meeks . But Simonette finished the match and then continued on to win the weight class. Simonette is very good and loves the head and arm.
