Re: MSL realignment
I never knew Crooksville was being considered for the MSL, but it does makes sense in the small school division.
I thought for sure Logan and Chillicothe would have invites. However, the MVL and SCOL will now have openings created from the loss of Crooksville, London and Madison Plains. Could we see the MVL come out and invite Logan and the SCOL invite Chillicothe?
The MVL could have a big school division anchored by Sheridan, Tri Valley and Logan.
I wonder what the next wave of fallout will be after the MSL plans are finalized?

Here are how the three divisions will look if all schools invited join ----
Amanda-Clearcreek, Bloom-Carroll, Circleville, Fairfield Union, Hamilton Township, Liberty Union, Logan Elm and Teays Valley (8 teams)
Bexley, Columbus Academy, Grandview Heights, London, Madison Plains, West Jefferson, Whitehall and Worthington Christian (8 teams)
Berne Union, Crooksville, Fairfield Christian, Fisher Catholic, Grove City Christian, Harvest Prep and Millersport (7 teams)

Chillicothe to the SCOL would be a good move, IMO. That puts them with similar sized schools and competitive opponents as well.

Obviously in that Division there would be only 7 for football. Maybe they would add a crossover with the small school division.

Re: MSL realignment
It looks like the MSL will save the SEOAL for now. I doubt the MVL will add anyone. It now makes them an even number conference. Portsmouth has no where to go since the SOC won't take them, and now it looks like Chillicothe and Logan are stuck right where they are.

Re: MSL realignment
It is not a done deal that Crooksville is leaving the MVL. But if they do leave, the MVL will have 8 teams and not look for replacements. The MVL schools are adament against divisions. The longest trip within the MVL is 1 hour 20 minutes and most trips are under an hour.
Since the article did not mention Logan, does that mean they did not show interest after the other schools bailed from the MSL?

Logan WITHDREW FROM MSL CONSIDERATION in the middle of the summer... and even if Logan hadn't, at least three MSL Buckeye schools indicated they would leave if Logan and Chillicothe were brought in.
Logan is not going to the MSL or the OCC. Not happening!!!!!!!!!!

Re: MSL realignment
Actually 2 schools stated they would leave if Logan was accepted. One school said they would abide by the vote but would vote no on Logan. That being said I heard their name was still on the list of those being considered as recently as a month ago.Late 70s Logan grad wrote:Logan WITHDREW FROM MSL CONSIDERATION in the middle of the summer... and even if Logan hadn't, at least three MSL Buckeye schools indicated they would leave if Logan and Chillicothe were brought in.

This took an interesting turn when one of the schools favoring the addition of larger schools (CW) left for the OCC. That left Logan Elm-Circleville partnering with some of the smaller schools in the majority. Teays, Amanda, HT, and a few other schools still favor Chillicothe but they do not have the votes. I think this reported alignment is what will happen.
This could still get interesting as Teays will not be happy with this division and may continue shopping around.
Re: MSL realignment
Actually it would hurt the overall competition schedule. Football and girls basketball would be a wash. Boys basketball would have their competition lowered. It would be a big step down for soccer, tennis, volleyball, etc.danicalifornia wrote:Chillicothe to the SCOL would be a good move, IMO. Crooksville posters on another site are saying that Crooksville is staying in the MVL.
Re: MSL realignment
That is great news that Fairfield Christian is joining the MSL. The travel this yr was brutal.
