someone said the TVC Ohio is pretty good this year........outside of VC and Alex it is as bad as it has ever been. The TVC has gone way down hill in recent years.

You still didn't answer the most meaningful question from above.
What are the quality wins vs D2 and D1 schools that VC has??
What are the quality wins vs D2 and D1 schools that Marietta has?

Lets see one team is playing D-2 teams like Jackson,Gallia,Zanesville,Ironton,Fairland,Chillicothe, and Warren.
The other team is playing teams like Nelsonville,Athens,Wellston,Belpre,Alexander, and Meigs.

This argument is stupid. Going on your guys' logic, what does that say about Waverly in SOC, the only d2 school in a league full of d3 schools? What does it matter and who is smart enough to figure out strength of schedule? This is a stupid argument.

Looks like Marietta barely beat Ironton (only D3) tonight. VC should definitely get the #1 seed if they beat D2 Waverly tomorrow.

This is exactly why VC will not let Warren and Marietta in the TVC. They would not be 13-1 or whatever they are.
From looking above the only team you beat was Alex but I don't know where that game was played.
Hawkeye
Yes Chilli beat everyone last year but no one in the southeast district was beaten by 50 except VC.

Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
You guys could talk about this seeding stuff till you are blue in the face - that # in front of your team really does not mean all that much. It's a tournament folks - win and move on - lose and get the ball gloves or the track spike out - it is as simple as that.
We will find out which teams have the "mojo" to navigate the tourney trail - advancing in the tourney sometimes takes a little luck as well.
The most talented teams don't always win - that is what makes it interesting.
You guys running down the different leagues is really pretty pointless.

Yes, it's not because of the 2 hour bus trips. It's already so much fun going to Belpre, it would be great to add two more trips that are even longer. Anyway, I doubt Vinton County gets to make the decision of who gets in and who doesn't. Just because VC rules the TVC on the court doesn't mean they get to rule the TVC everywhere else.

Chillicothe won over Marietta 77-47 in their first game in last year's district. Not exactly a close game.

Marietta deserves the 1 seed they play in a tougher league and although vc beat logan we beat them twice. Then Marietta losses are to good team Chili and one of the best teams in W.V. (Tucker County). Just because vc is 12-1 or 11-1 or whatever doesent mean they deserve the 1 seed. If Marietta and vc meet up I would guess Marietta wins by a big margin.

Marietta may not get to play vc though because warren jackson or gallia could beat them before us. Seoal is the cream of the crop in Southeasten Ohio

That's funny. VC already beat Jackson at Jackson 65-41 this season. VC has tried to get Gallia on the schedule for years, but Gallia refuses to play them. Looks to me like Gallia doesn't want any of VC.

Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
I watched Marietta meltdown late in the game against Fairland, at Marietta College earlier this year. I was not impressed with their performance in that game. Their big man could have dominated, had he touched the ball more.
That being said, I still must give them the edge over VC at this point. The tiger's win over Ironton the other night tips the scale in favor of Marietta. Just my opinion, and no dog in this fight.

Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
Well, I just read that Ironton did not have their leading scorer for the Marietta game. Makes that victory much less impressive.
ARGUMENT OVER! Marietta just lost to Jackson by 5! VC won at Jackson by 24 this year. VC deserves the 1 seed regardless of whether they win or lose against Waverly tonight.
Turns out, VC did lose to Waverly by 5. Still think the Vikings are deserving of the 1 seed over Marietta, though.

You VC people are pointing out that, based on league records, you beat the 2nd and 3rd worst teams in the SEOAL and that the worst one won't play you. You also point out beating Athens as a quality win. Let me pause and say that again. ATHENS as a quality win. ATHENS is the team that left the SEOAL for the TVC because they couldn't compete. They would have 1 or 2 wins were they in the SEOAL still. The only DECENT win you have is Alexander. I have not ever seen them play so I cannot judge them but based on the teams they play, they could be the same as VC.

gymratt,
It has finally reached the point that I have to respond to your post. I have been reading your ignorant posts for over a year now, and they have finally caused me to respond. Why do you constantly want to call out many local teams and continue to feel as though your Cavs invented the game? Your Chillicothe program has been one of the better teams around for only 3 years now. You must have short term memory. Don't you remember when you were part of the OCC and the Cavs were treated like the red headed step child of that league. Now you want to rip on Athens for leaving the SEOAL because they couldn't compete. Isn't this why Chilli left the OCC. I could go on and on, but obviously it wouldn't help you realize anything. You are simply stuck in your own little "Chillicothe world" and you have either a sick fetish with the Chillicothe Cavaliers or you just like to drag other schools down. Either way, you seriously need to grow up and get a life. Everykid that plays high school basketball works their butt off and they don't need to get on this site and read the trash written from people like yourself.

Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
Correct me if I am wrong, but last season, Chillicothe didn't win their league championship? It looks like they will not win this year. The state championship is more of a tribute to Hitchens, Chambers and the resolve from a disappointing regional loss the year before. No one is denying their talent, however, you did not invent basketball, and like jm12... said where were you when Chillicothe was in the OCC, we were here supporting our team, you were absence. It is amazing what a little success will do? Are you a Bandwagon Jumper?

He probably is hawkeye. Probably loves the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. Oh, and I would lay money on it that gymratt is either a North Carolina or Duke fan in college hoops.
jm, good point about the Cavaliers leaving the OCC because they could not compete. Also, I believe travel was a big part of the reason Athens left the SEOAL.
Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
The reason Athens left the SEOAL is because they could not compete and they took the easiest way out.
They had the most central location of any school. The league was practically built around them.

From bronc21 on another thread:
In Division 2- Logan Elm and Marietta get the top seeds, with Chillicothe and Vinton County at #2. #3 seeds go to Hillsboro and Warren, #4 to McClain and Fairfield Union. Waverly and Sheridan are 5th seeds, #6 goes to Washington CH and Athens, 7th seeds to Gallia Academy and Northwest, 8th to Circleville and Meigs, 9th seeds to Miami Trace and Jackson and Unioto is the 10th seed.
The #1 & #2 seeds could not meet until the Regional Semis
1 logan elm 1 marietta
2 chillicothe 2 vinton cty
3 hillsboro 3 warren
4 mcclain 4 fairfield union
5 waverly 5 sheridan
6 wch 6 athens
7 northwest 7 gallia
8 circleville 8 meigs
9 miami trace 9 jackson
10 unioto 10 new lex
8 meets 9 (1 plays winner)
4 meets 5
7 meets 10 (2 plays winner)
3 meets 6
the d2 bracket is http://www.seodab.org/brackets/2009/boysbb/div2.htm

Re: D@ Logan Sectional seeding
Vc beat Jackson fair and square by 24.....but Jackson is considerably improved since then.
Marietta getting the #1 seed means if Jackson can get by Meigs......they'll face a team they've already beaten.
But Jackson playing at Logan has never been a great thing.
But having watched VC and Marietta.....I'd rather face Marietta.
