Tri-Valley Conference Tourn. @ NY Feb 14

Otterslide I would not read into it to much. I moved Norway up for obvious reasons. The Belpre 160 is prettty darn good and myself and Robert would be the first to admit he has never beat Ashton and has a better shot at winning the TVC at 171. Which wrestling 171 will be no easy task as Wiggers and Burt are two very good wrestlers. Oh well it will be a great day of wrestling with some great matches. Coach's have to play with their lineup to increase the kids chances of winning and the team moving up. I Would say 119 is a little weaker than 112 however their are some very good 119 as it sounds as if Stalder beat Rodriquez out in wrestle offs, toss in Crock and Law and this will be a great weight class. Wellston placed 3rd today as a team and had several kids place in their weight classes.
Richie Zinn placed 2nd in the 130 class
Anthony Flemming placed 2nd in the 145 class.
Tyler Wilburn placed 2nd in the 152 class.
Matt Lockard placed 2nd in the 189 class.
Benny Grey took 1st in the 215 class.
Josh Jones placed 2nd in the heavyweight class.

Congradulations to Athens for thier TVC Championship. I also think Nelsonville deserves tremendous credit for a 2nd place finish. Those freshman for coach Yinger are all outstanding and represented their school very well. There were some tremendous matches across the board and made for a very exciting time for fans!! Great Job to all the coaches and most importantly the wrestlers in the TVC.

Tournament ran really well including the Junior High in the mix it still ran smooth from my cheap seats. I hope more Junior High kids get in the mix next year.

Congradulations to Ashton Packard for his 4th TVC Championship and earning Most Valuable Wrestler!!!

They are a little out of order, but they do have some sense to them. Those weight classes that were in round robin are all together as are the weight classes that were in two pools. I'll try to clean them up a little tomorrow and repost.

Best I can tell, Athens got Championships from Jon Lazear at 125, Ethan Stalder at 140, Steven McLaughlin at 152, Joey Young at 189, and Jon Keener at 285. They had 2nd place finishes from Tyler Jackson at 103 and Seth Stalder at 119, and third place finishes from Brian Follrod at 171, Josh Dingess at 112, Caleb Covington at 130, Chris Holiday at 145, Reed Anderson at 160, and Jordan Sweeney at 215.

Great job Bulldogs!! Best of luck in the Sectionals.

Congratulations to the Athens Middle School for winning the Middle School competition at the TVC Championships. Athens 194 points to edge Belpre. Wellston was third, Nelsonville-York 4th, Vinton County 5th and Waterford 6th. Jon Webb, Dennison West, Daniel Dishong, and Alex Tritipo won first place.
