I don't see Westerns Jv going undefeated or even close to being . Even if Nick only played Jv there is a huge difference in jr high and high school jv . Kids are bigger stronger and faster . That being said I do think they would have a winning season but Shanks is varsity as well as Brewster and as the season goes on I can see Garrit and Riggs also moveing up. You have to play your best players at varsity whether there freshmen or seniors .

Logan should have a decent jv team. They have a good PG and a good SG who both like to attack the basket. With solid size in the front court, two big guys over 6-3 and a another forward with agility in Gabe Smith. They will play end to end but overall their strengths will be guard play and size.

Last year the Meigs JV gave Vinton County their only loss of the season.Dundas wrote:VC always has a good jv squad.. not losing more than 4 or 5 games in a year since probably 02. 3 or 4 of those years going undefeated ..including last year.

If Valley had any type of coaching at the JV level they would be pretty good. As it is now, just no leadership. Very similar to the 7th grade football situation.

Unioto. Well coached, start 3 freshmen and can get up and down very well, especially when they limit their rotation like they did against Madison Plains. Very exciting future in Frenchtown.

Who cares who has a good J.V. team? I guess it depends on what you think the objective of a JV team is. I think it should be to teach the kids fundamentals, and the same system the varsity runs. If you're more concerned with winning games than teaching kids, sure you can win a lot of games, but what purpose does it serve if they don't know fundamentals or what the head coach will run the next year?
You can win a lot and teach fundamentals, that should be the goal for a JV team.
