IMO...
1 - Portsmouth - Played a very tough schedule and also came out 3 - 1 against Warren and Chillicothe.
2 - Chesapeake - Didn't play nowhere near the scedule that Ironton did but still got the W in the head to head battle.
3 - Ironton - Played the toughest schedule by far and had they won a game or two more they would have been my number one seed hands down.
4 - Valley - I have them number 4 based on the fact that they didn't play near the schedule that Portsmouth and Ironton played and they also have the loss vs. Ironton.
This is just the way i believe the seedings will go. I do however think that any of these teams could be the other on any given night but when you get Ironton or Portsmouth playing their best ball, they will be very very tough to beat.

I think I would get along with these people. :-D That is pretty random though. It would be awesome if they could actually do it this season.

didn't Ironton loose to Greenup CO,KY.That does not look good on their resume. Ironton can be very good on a-lot of night's;but you can never know which Ironton is going to show up.I do like their team though.

This draw comes down to politics as usual. There will be a lot of interest in getting Portsmouth and Ironton to meet before the regional.
I really enjoyed moose sarcasm. No argument here. Chesapeake deserves the number 1.... But it will be clear that they will be very active on the phones this week. Not making sure they are number 1....trying to influence who number 3 may be.
The majority of folksbthink it should be:
1. Peak
2.mouth
3. Ironton
The pressure will be squarely on Chesapeake in my opinion. They really need to make a final four run this year

If we are going to take schedule's into account with Ironton, then we need to take them into account with Portsmouth and Chesapeake. And if that is the case, I believe that the Trojans are #1. Peake does only have 1 loss but I don't feel they have played the schedule that Portsmouth has played. I haven't personally watched any of these teams except Ironton (who Valley played) but I can't imagine there being very much seperation between the top 4 teams. Politics may play a role (they normally do) but in the end this sectional should produce your regional champion.

I think schedule is only part of the equation. I also think Portsmouth should be ahead of Ironton....however, no way Portsmouth has played the toughest schedule. I keep hearing how good Warren is... When have they ever won anything? I'll give ya Chillicothe, but Jackson, Gallia a nd Logan twice?

I don't think you guys realize (why you argue over the No. 1 seed) that the No. 1 may not be the 'best' place to be! The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds get matched up with the Athens No.1 and Athens No. 2 ... After watching game-after-game, night-after-night here in 'TVC LAND' - you Jackson sectional folks WANT TO PLAY the teams from Athens ... IMO - I would be tickled to death if I were Ironton or Valley and recieved the 3 and the 4.

I agree that the 3-4 seeds may get an easier first game at the Convo, but you have to keep in mind that they could also end up with Minford, Oak Hill, or Coal Grove in the Jackson sectional which could be dangerous. The middle of the pack at Jackson are good enough to pull an upset of one of the top 4. I wouldn't be too surprised if one of the top 4 does not make it to the convo this year.

As an example, would you rather play the winner of West/South Point or Oak Hill in for a sectional title? I think most coaches would not want to play against Norm to get to the Convo if given a choice....

You could make a case that each seed has its positives ... Kind of a 'win-win' for the top 4 seeds really,

With roughly 12 hours to go until the draw, my "guess" as to how the top 4 will look is as follows:

1) Chesapeake
2) Ironton
3) Portsmouth
4) Valley

I honestly believe Portsmouth is the team to beat in this Sectional and view the 3 seed as more of a reward/show of respect than anything. I think the potential Ironton/Valley match-up in the District Finals will be every bit as close as their early season match-up, only much better played by BOTH teams. This Sectional is far and away the "Stud Sectional" of the Southeast District in Division 3 this year. I honestly believe one of the top 4 teams in this Sectional will be playing in Columbus next month.

I think it's crazy how they do the seeding, to much gray area. There should be a points system similer to Football IMO. Coaches and Conferences voting on positions just doesn't seem right to me. Is this the only sport in Ohio that does seedings like this???
