shljunkie,

I totally agree with your post about not bashing kids. I've made a comment in an earlier post that I would never do that and I realize that most don't. It really does make me scratch my head though when my "sarcasm" and fun upset more posters on here than singling out players for gains only which they know. Everyone needs to calm themselves before it gets worse. I don't know these kids personally, but from everything I have read and heard, they all seem to be a good group of kids.

Ironman92,

I'm right there with you...a very inappropriate word.

At the risk of looking stupid, I just have to ask, what "word" is it that you all are referring to?

In an earlier post I used the world "retarded" for those of you that were wondering. Out of line, and i apologize, dont bother looking back for it though because im getting ready to edit it out. I apologize for anyone i offended. And to follow up on my earlier comments, I have been a supporter of #14 for years. I think he is an amazing talent, im not taking anything away from him, I guess I would just like to see him achieve even more good numbers and I think if he allows his team to help that he will have greater success. Sorry again to anyone i may have offended.

Also, thanks for the advice shljunkie. I notice when people make rude or offensive statements or jump to conclusions that they make themselves look ignorant. So in the future i'll be careful not to do any of these things. Also I'll be more careful not make any statements that make me seem like i dont support a player of the home team, the truth is I SUPPORT EACH AND EVERY PLAYER of our team. But most of all I support the team, and in the future I would like to see a TEAM on the floor. sorry again for my ignorance in my last post.

an old cliche' seems appropriate for this topic;
HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOESN'T WORK HARD OR TOGETHER. team being the major key to success, especially so in basketball.
i believe the better TEAM won this game and probably again the next game if peebles does not unite.
when a team has one outstanding player and he is over utilized the others some times have a tendency to stand around and watch him. his shots need to come from the offense and not him being the entire offense.
teams that have one dominant offensive player seldom win championships unless that player gets his teammates involved.
everyone on the team needs to know their role and they must carry out this role to its fullest, however, not all teams are created equal when it comes to the number of shots taken. as i said earlier, shooters shoot, just not everytime they touch the ball.

Just when I think I'm done.....Your first couple sentences started off great sparky, then I just started shaking my head. Just not sure when some will get it, again, for the hundredth time, the supporting cast players on this team DO know their roles. There isn't a one of them going around complaining about not getting to shoot or score, as a matter of fact, most are more than happy to get assists, to work the ball around, make good passes, work their tails off on defense because they know that that is what it takes to win. They aren't as interested in shooting as in getting their scorers BETTER SHOTS. They are nothing more than happy when their other teammates shine because they care about them and they care about winning. They have to be given opportunities to do this. Its hard to get involved in an offense that involves getting it across half court and launching it over and over. Your posts make it sound like the other members of this team stand around and do nothing and if that's where you're coming from you obviously aren't watching the same games as the rest of us.
kg23, I know very well that you support the team, we all get frustrated, so I totally understand where you are coming from. As I said before, its not about being on anyones ship but the ship of the team.

I don't see where sparky said anything about players not knowing their roles. He just mentioned a tendency that is spot on....not necessarliy to your team, but when a team has one main player in the offense.

That post by sparky is one of his more serious posts the way I read it. I'll admit he usually gets on here and pokes and prods like he's won a regional championship or something when it's probable he's just some internet board superstar who had more letters in golf than he did basketball.

Any one that knows anthing about basketball should know that if u have only two players taking shots, and a third once in a while, all good teams will key on those two.If u know 2 or 3 players will not shoot at all,the defense has a big advantage.Come on people open your eyes.People have posted on here about are the other things getting done, that it takes to win ball games, like rebounding, defense, setting picks, things that have to get done if ur going to be consistant.Well look the next time we are on offense and look at the floor when a shot goes up.Give me a break.Three or four players around the top of the key,i dont think thats being in position to get many rebounds.Picks, wow we dribble in to a double team and shoot from long range, dont think we pass the ball around long enough to set a pick.So my suggestion is if you arent at the games, how can you comment on what were doing. All i can say is,i do bleed Red and GO INDIANS.Great bunch of kids, with a lot of talent.Just think we need to go in a little different direction.Lets move on and beat those Dragons.Gee i hope we dont hurt there mascot.

Really Matt Foley, where did you hear that? I haven't read that anywhere on the post at all, maybe I'm missing something. Is this a post for good basketball conversation, viewpoints and opinions and observations or is it a self-esteem hotline where we just say nothing more than how great everything is. Get in the real world.

hahaha. I love reading what some people have to say. Nobody has said anything about being rid of Lawhorne, as a matter of fact I think most people look at him as a great coach, i merely think people are saying get ahold of your team and make them play your game instead of their own. Your going to see a new team on the floor against the draggin's tonight lol. (sorry that was a cheap shot) I think the change will have been made on a coaching stand point, and if the players don't abide by what they have been told since tuesday, i think you'll be able to find them on the bench. If not then I dunno what to say.

I love golf......but it's not too popular in the SHL area other than Wet Union.

Funny enough, I would've golfed in college but Rio Grande didn't have a golf team.....but I did have to take a golf class and then as a part of my leadership class did have to assist in teaching a golf class......

How does this tie to anything....the class was taught by John Lawhorn.

I wouldn't say "no one" in southern Ohio cares about golf. I know quite a few people in this area who love the game. But any way, let's get back to the Peebles fans bashing their own team. It is getting rather comical!

I apologize slamdunk, I shouldn't have been mean. I just hate to see someone embarress themselves by talking about basketball when they obviously dont know much about it. Think I had better retire from this topic. Best of luck with your golf game.

Have not watched a Peebles game this year but I thought that Justice would score in the same manner that J.J Reddick did from Duke a few years ago. From what I saw last year that is the type of player I thought he could be at the next level. Sounds from the posts I am reading that he is shooting off the dribble alot and has the ball in his hands frequently. Also, did he grow any from last year (weight/height)?
