Tiger defense pretty much stuffed the West run game. Great preparation and effort!

Tiger offense looked like they did against everybody other than Burg.

West is one dimensional and Waverly for the most part stopped Hurd. One long run by Hurd on 4th and 2 was most of his yards.

FIRST QUARTER
7:37 Diener 35 Yard FG after drive stalled when Tigers had it first and goal at the 6. 3-0 Waverly
.22 Phoenix Wolfe TD catch from 26 yards - PAT blocked 9-0 Waverly

SECOND QUARTER
9:48 West 4th & 2 at their 45 ran to the Waverly 12.
9:34 Berry end around TD run - PT good Waverly lead 9-7
8:47 Marquez TD reception from 34 yards - 2 PT no good Waverly lead 15-7
4:11 West blocked punt and Staggs retuned it for a TD. 2 PT no good Waverly lead 15-13
.23 TD pass to Easton Wolfe 42 yards - PAT good Waverly lead 22-13

THIRD QUARTER
8:07 Shoemaker 68 yd TD run - 2 PT no good - Waverly lead 28-13
.31 Bradford 1 yd TD run - missed PAT -m Waverly lead 28-19
(Snap over punters head gave West a very short field)

FOURTH QUARTER
9:43 Easton Wolfe TD catch of 27 yds - PAT good 35-19

Waverly could have passed the ball all night but did a very nice job running it as well.
After hearing all the comments on here about West’s ability to smack our mouth and stop our running game, I was somewhat surprised we domininated the way we did.
Great great win by the Tigers - enjoy this one for a couple days and start preparing for the trip to Muletown next Friday.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen our kids so well-prepared defensively and offensively to execute a game plan. Kudos to the staff for having our kids ready and in tune with what West was trying to do us, and putting them in the position to make plays. And our kids made plays and showed a toughness that surprised me after suffering a rough one last week. Go Tigers!

I was wrong on this game. I thought the physicality of West would wear on Waverly and West would win a close game late. That was not the case. Tonight is a perfect example of why you play the games.

That's great didn't know if they could or not given how they've played the run so far, West just to 1-dimensional made it easy sounds like. Congrats to the tigers on a HUGE win.

West is in a ton of trouble, this was a must win game for them. Now they're taking on central Catholic and burg, probably looking at a 6-4 season now and sitting at home week 11.

Possibly looking at back to back games against Wheelersburg

Very disappointed with the performance tonight. Hats off to waverly for executing the game plan perfectly. Officiating was bad as expected but wouldn’t have changed the outcome . They didn’t miss tackles and fail to cover the pass. Also thought it was unprofessional to continually call us Portsmouth all night long . Funny how high school football works to where waverly about loses to valley while west dominated the game . And then waverly does this to us. Would love to see the game next week go our way but I’ve been told that is a very strong ball club we will be facing. As far as playoffs go I think I read on Drew Pasteur even with a 6-4 record we are still in at a 98 percent chance , would love a home field though.

I think the Tigers surprised a lot of so-called experts on here, seeing how some had West winning by 2-3 scores ended up losing by 16.
It was I think the most focused and prepared Waverly team I have seen all season. They were ready to play this game and took it to West from the opening kick. Huge win for Level 2 playoff points, and next week will be worth another mother load of Level 2 points as we travel to Minford. Keep it rolling Tigers!!

Football is weird. Waverly struggles against Valley and easily could’ve lost the game. West probably would’ve blown them out by 40 with a full game last week. Then they lose to Waverly by 16.

Again, football is weird.

Nah, they'll be lucky to even get it at 6-4. Valley beating a 5-3 Belpre team was big last night, also Trojans coming through against Fairland was another. Like you say even if they make it looking at Burg or Madison in round 1.

Waverly right now with 2 winnable games left and week 10 facing Logan who even though they're 1-7 they are still a division 2 team which will help. Waverly should end up sitting in that 4-5-6 area unless they get beat by Logan who has played some stiff competition. They've played 4 teams currently sitting at 7-1 and lost last night to 8-0 team so that's 5 of there 7 losses to teams with a combined 4 losses, lol. Other 2 coming against 5-3 Zanesville and 5-3 Teays Valley. So don't let the record fool you Logan will a tough game given the schedule they've played. 1st things 1st though have to take care of Minford.

Tigers must go 9-1 to assure a playoff birth. 8-2 may not get the Tigers in (region 16). They may be playing on the road at 9-1.
Sad thing is, they would sitting at #2 right now in region 15..... and have beaten 2 of the top 8 in that region.

As others have said, Waverly came out last night with a whole new level of energy, focus and determination the likes of which we have not seen all season. Our defense was swarming all night! Talk about playing with a chip on your shoulder. Motivation is a funny thing and Waverly had it last night.

When you can muster that type of energy for 4 quarters it's a fun to watch! Go Tigers!!

Waverly did struggle against Valley, in the first half. But they made adjustments and didn't allow much in the 2nd half, allowing 1 TD when Valley had a short field after a turnover. The first half Waverly would have struggled against West too, but the 2nd half Waverly played the whole game against West instead.
