Re: OSU vs Wisconsin
looks like I was proved wrong in this one. Bucks defense was playing outstanding ball last night. Wisconsin couldn't get much of anything going on the ground whatsoever. Braxtom Miller looked better that he has, still not great through the air. He's improved on his accuracy and ball carrying abilities over the past few weeks. But where he really impressed is when he was out of the pocket on the run, he was still looking to throw the ball. Most players would just take off and run but he made some veteran type decisions on a few plays where he did this, namely the 40 yard TD pass.
Boom Herron has really been great to have back the past two games. He is quite a good running back, he had another good game against a tough Badgers defense.
I was honestly surprised to see the Buckeyes win this one, with the way the season started. It's been heart break losses the past 2 weeks for Wisconsin, but it sure was great to see Ohio State get revenge from the game last year.

It would be sweet to win out the next 3, and go into th Michigan game with both teams needing to win to make it to the title game!
THE GAME STILL MATTERS!

Heard the same thing a few years ago against Oregon in the Rose Bowl,All we heard was how slow O-State was and we could't handle their skill players,,,how'd that one turn out?FANOSPORTS wrote:They'd better lose another game because if they don't they'll have to face LSU, Alabama or Stanford in a bowl game and that would be bad.

When I saw Miller go into his throwing motion instead of running for the first down, I screamed, "What is he doing?!?!" Then, about a second later, I was screaming "YES!!!!!" lol

OK, what we need now is final resolution of the pending NCAA case and to settle on a coach. Still not sold on Luke (no pun about being a Fickle fan) but what we need is continuity going forward, get the recruits signed and move on!

I expected Wisc to wear down the OSU defense and win by 2-3 TD's.
Miller looks improved. Played with some confindence.
Good win.

I'd rather play those teams than a weaker opponent!
Then why are they playing Indiana and Purdue in real games instead of scrimmages ? Oh I forgot , they're BIG-10 teams. They could really pad the record if they played Northwestern and Minnesota this year. With the addition of Nebraska this year it just went from the Big-3 and little 8 to the Big-4 and little 8, that's all.

Re: OSU vs Wisconsin
Big 4?? Let's see; Nebraska (that's one), Michigan (two), Michigan State (Three), Ohio State (there's four, but wait there's more), Penn State (Five), and Wisconsin (Six (6)). 5 of these teams are ranked in the top 25 BSC standing, with the exception of OSU. Yea, maybe we do have some cupcakes on the schedule this year, but every conference has weak teams that you've got to play against at least every few years. There's nothing much we can really do about that. No disrespect meant toward you FAN, just the way I see it.FANOSPORTS wrote:seofan_via_dublin wrote:Never back down!!!FANOSPORTS wrote:They'd better lose another game because if they don't they'll have to face LSU, Alabama or Stanford in a bowl game and that would be bad.

And if you were to have said anything about playing the MAC, I would agreed 100% about it! Really weak teams really do nothing for us, except maybe raise the confidence levels.

Marshall, Norfolk State (never heard of them till this year), Bowling Green, UCONN, Syracuse (which you lost).....and you want to compare schedules? Unreal. LOL.

^^^^^^Forgot to mention there is only one team that is in the top 25 BCS standings that WVU played, which was LSU. And we all saw that one on National Television!

Michigan State and Michigan football are not in the top tier of the Big-10 when I refer to the Big-4. These are Penn State, OSU, Nebraska and Wisconsin today. Michigan St. was mediocre for decades, has a couple good years, gets blown completely out in a Big bowl game and have elevated themselves to the top tier ? , NOT. Michigan will continue to falter for a few more years, still have a very bad defense and have been only semi-conscious and on life support for the last 5 yrs. so in my book that's enough to drop them below the mason-dixon line in the conference. "Big-4, Little-8".

Before I pass judgment on your logic, I must ask one question. Where do you rate WVU in the grand scheme of college football? This question is not a knock on you or WVU. I'm honestly wondering where you see the Mountaineers in terms of comparing them to the rest of the country? I assure you I'll explain my rationale without acting ridiculous.FANOSPORTS wrote:^^^^^^^^^^

Sorry that it's also a little off subject. But, I promise I'll tie it all back together.

Being in the endzone where the game was won and just the atmosphere in the stadium I must say it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Braxton Miller looked good and it is great to have a defense that can keep you in about every game.

Re: OSU vs Wisconsin
In the grand scheme of college football WVU (w/ Marshall also) is a competitive player from one of the least populated, least industrialized, least economically developed states in the union. They can compete in the two major money making sports (basketball / football) at the highest levels but have had to overcome many obstacles with some stated above with others being universtity size, geographics, having to recruit and sell the university to out of state kids, financial backing from alumni / boosters etc. WVU and Marshall won't get many top 100 recruits like the OSU's, Florida's and Oklahoma's every year but do well with what they do get. They've played in and won many meaningful bowl and tournament games over the decades and done quite well with final fours, elite eights, sweet sixteens in basketball and bowl and BCS games in football but are not now and probably will never be on the level with bigger supported, higher profiled universities with big check books. I don't think most people from the state have any illusions of grandeur like other schools do about making the NCAA finals in any sport during any given year but they will keep rooting for the teams and most will be happy if they can stay around in the top 20 during the years and most of all be competitive with most teams or conferences they are affiliated with. IMO, that's it in a nutshell.Jesco White wrote:Before I pass judgment on your logic, I must ask one question. Where do you rate WVU in the grand scheme of college football? Cameron, I was sitting right behind the Wisky parents and it was a great night.Talked to Mike Taylors' dad and he seemed like a pretty good guy.Montee Balls' mom,not so much.Taylors' son was tearing it up at LB and I told him his son played a heck of a game.He told me it looked like Ohio State had their team back and good luck the rest of the way.I'M still trying to choose between last Saturday,or 1985 when Iowa came in ranked No. 1 and the Bucks laid a smack down on them as the most exciting game I've been to.Just for you Fan I was there when the Mountys and Major came to town.21-0 with time left in the first quarter.Snooze fest after that as Bruce played three yards and a cloud of carpet all day.
